We are here!!

Hello...Just a little note to let you know that we made it here to the TUNDRA of Illinois!! WE had a time getting here...

Right now it is 0 degrees!! It is Sunday night and the wind has been horrible...

This morning we got up in the state of Kentucky around Paducah...We got up to the water frozen..even though we had wrapped the hose...it did not work!! We had cold everywhere!! We thought maybe it might be a good idea to TURN around and just go back to Georgia where it was really a lot nicer!! BUT you know we were that close so had better keep going!

We found a close Walmart and I got a warmer coat for me...what a smart idea that was!!! We just got up the road a little ways and discovered that the wind was going to cause us the most problems. Hubby struggled with the wheel on the motor home the entire way!! He was so tired. Finally he decided to get off of the main highway and take just a 2 lane road. Once we got on that it was a little bit easier going although we were down to 40 mph!! We kept hearing something that did not sound right...finally we kept getting closer to my parent's town. We sort of limped into the parking lot where we were going to park the motor home.

Hubby got out and saw that the dolly that we were carrying our car on...had a tire coming off. God was good because He let us make it into the parking lot before the tire came off. IF it had came off while we were on the road, it would have damaged our car!! God is so good!! I had been praying anyway and He must have been listening!!

Now the motor home is parked and we are here at my parent's home!! We are spending the night here. I feel badly about the motor home. The water lines are now all frozen. We have to figure out HOW and IF we can fix the wheel on the dolly...I so hope we can figure that one out because I DO NOT want to drive that car back!! Please pray we can figure that one out...also pray that the weather gets back up in the 30's so that our motor home can thaw out. We want to go to our daughter's for Christmas and that is up by Chicago!!

What a mess!! How did we ever live here before! Guess we did not know any better then...but boy I really like the South as far as weather goes...a whole lot better.

Well we are off to church now so need to close. I cannot get my computer to hook up here so using my mother's computer!!

Glad you made the trip safely. We are cold and have lots of snow with lots of wind blowing. You no sooner shovel out the drive and the winds blows it back! (sigh)

Oh you really did have an angel on your shoulder for that trip. I also hope the weather becomes a bit milder for you to allow things to thaw out. It sounds an awful trip, but I'm glad you're safe.

Have a wonderful Christmas, Sandy.
