Friday Is Here!!

Taking a break for a few minutes from cleaning bathrooms...better rest now and again and not push my back too much today!!

I just love my Christmas cactus this year. I bought it last year and this year it is really showing off all of its glory!! I love blooming plants!!

Last night I finished up my book that i was reading called, "When Crickets Cry" by Charles Martin. If you want to just read a good book, I highly recommend this one. On the front it says..This is a book of the heart and that is just what it is!! It is a wonderful story that will keep you going from page to page. I so love this sort of book. I think these books only come every once in a great while!! If you need a good book....go find this one!! Okay??

Also last night, Thursday is just a lousy TV night if you ask me that is...Hubby found "Driving Miss Daisy". We had seen it a long time ago...In fact it was a 1989 movie!! We watched it and I loved it as well the second time!! What a sweet relationship between Miss Daisy and Hoc!! What a good friendship too!! Fun to watch a nice movie like that again!!

We have rain and a cloudy dreary day here in Savannah!! I will take this rain over snow any day!!

Wherever you might be today...have a wonderful sunny day even if the weather is not going your way!!

FLIP FLOP
Thought for the day: "Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let the light in!!"

Driving Miss Daisy always reminds me of my grandmother. I took her to see that and it was so good, but she was unable to see the majority of it because of how dark so many of the scenes were and she was having such problems with her eyes. She loved imagining what was going on in it.

Have a good weekend.

You seem a bit more up. A good movie can do that. Last night we watched a Santa Claus movie starring Tim Allen. It brought a few smiles. Sometimes laughter is the best medicine. Thanks for the book recommendation. I'm having a bit of trouble yet concentrating on anything long... so it may be a title for down the road.

I enjoyed Miss Daisy too, but it's been years since I saw it. I love your Christmas Cactus.

Blessed are the cracked for they let the light in...hahaha, I love that.

I've seen Driving Miss Daisy too, lovely movie. I've written down the title and author of that book and will see if I can get it at the library next week. Sounds good.

Hope your back isn't giving you too much grief, Sandy. Take care.

Your Christmas cactus is just beautiful...that's a plant I've never owned but should look into seeing if they're available here.

I've watched "Driving Miss Daisy" three times and loved it every time. I've always been a big fan of Morgan Freeman's and in fact was watching one of his other movies while having my coffee this morning:-)

Can you believe it, we're in the middle of ANOTHER snowstorm as I type this. Sigh. I know it's pretty but enough already!!! lol We're not even into Winter yet, for goodness sakes. I'm supposed to be going to an Old Fashioned Tree Lighting tonight but not sure if I'll be able to because of this storm. Hopefully it will end soon! xoxo

The cactus IS beautiful Sandy. Mine? Well, I've had both mine since last year also, and they're not doing well at all. But mine are outdoors. So, that's probably one of the reasons. LOL

I haven't watch Driving Miss Daisy in years. I think we have it on VHS even...so it is an older movie.

Have a great weekend.

Sounds like you're doing better! I'm so glad! My friend just emailed me recently about her Christmas cactus. I bought us both one a few years ago when we lived near each other. We moved here to Savannah and she to Arizona. Her cactus went to Tennessee with her mom and it's blooming like crazy! Mine had an early demise. I was just looking at them today and wanted to get one, but didn't...
Hope your weekend was good!

I love Christmas cactus....I had one 10 years or so ago that was huge.....It was in a 18 pot and about 2 1/2 foot across...... I lived in a Swiss style apartment with a huge deck out side my door . The cactus sat right outside the door with partial light.....Perfect place for it to thrive....... One evening around dusk I heard some racket and looked out and there as a family of raccoons Mom and babies having their evening dessert of my cactus.... By the time I ran them off (I had to laugh) my cactus was eaten to the dirt........ Never had another one......... enjoy yours and do not sit it outside if you have critters...

Sandy,

Your Christmas cactus is beautiful. I used to have a pretty pink one. One year it had over 200 blooms on it. It was so beautiful, but after it had bloomed so profusely, it died. I have yet to get another.

Surprise! Today I heard a knock on the door about 1pm. When I got there, it was the Canada Post delivery man and he had a parcel. I brought it in and saw that it was from you. Inside was our beautiful scarecrow lady, safe and sound, along with a lovely note. Thank you so much my friend. I love her and promise she will have a good home.

Praying for you and hoping that you are feeling better.

Blessings,
Mary
