I am a KEPT woman

I have been thinking how fortunate I am to be at home lately!! I feel so fortunate to my husband for letting me be here!!

I enjoyed my last job with Curves but I wanted to be here at home to watch our two youngest grands and to be available if I am needed by my parents. I just felt like this was the time for these two things to be!!

  • I LOVE being able to do things WHEN I want to do them.
  • I LOVE not being told what to do!!
  • I LOVE cleaning my home WHEN I want too.
  • I LOVE knowing that my time is mine for a change.
  • I LOVE watching the two kids and listening to all their conversations and TRYING to answer some of their questions.
  • I LOVE not being stressed out over things like I was when I worked.
  • I LOVE just being me for a while.
  • I LOVE just being at home!!
I need to thank my hard working hubby for this great time in my life!! Oh, I know down deep someplace that this will not last forever!! I just wish with all my heart that hubby could just stop what he is doing, relax and never have to work again...but that is a BIG FAIRY TALE!!

You think when you are young that someday you will just be able to sit back in your chair with your darling mate and watch the sun go down in the evening and come up in the mornings..Well, that is not reality!!

That is one reason why right now..just for this moment...I am enjoying being a kept Woman!!

I'm enjoying being a "kept" woman too. I am thankful that Hubby is also retired. I guess we're both 'kept" by social security and savings we were able to put aside. Thankfully I only worked outside the home for 10 years of my married 50 years. And that was by choice. I just thought it would be nice to make a little money to help retire on. It did help.
Have a great "kept" week.
Hugs,
Charlotte

Awwww...isn't your hubby just so good?? It's hard to have to keep working. I'm thankful that you're able to have this time with your grands. I know you're making memories with them that will last their whole lives through.

Hugs,

Susan

Being a kept woman is really nice, and even better when you are both retired. Come and go as you please and no one telling you what you have to do, so nice. That day will come, as it does to us all. So just remember your day is coming, you just watch. Enjoy your blog, take care and will be happy to see you in August. Love & Hugs Mother

This is my first visit. I come by way of Sharon, Techno Nana. She is a wonderful friend I met on my blog. You live in a wonderful city where quite a few of my relatives live. We're only about 3 hours away when I'm home in SC. I am working full time and I don't think it will ever be a reality for me to be home and painting and just enjoying stuff. I love my job, but I wonder sometimes how long I will be able to hang in. I guess the Lord knows exactly when and I want Him to be the one to lead me in this. I'm glad you get to be with your grands. Aren't they wonderful? My granddaughter is so sweet and so much fun to be with. Come visit me sometime. trish

Sandi,

It is wonderful that your hard working hubby is able to provide and allow you to stay home and enjoy this time in your life. It is balm for the soul to be able to take time to stop and smell the roses.

Yes, the boys learned a lesson that they won't soon forget. I think they thought something like that only happened on television.

Enjoy your week.
Blessings,
Mary

Your post for today sounds like something I could have written. It's the happiest time of my life being retired and going at my own pace. I'm happy for you, Sandy. I hope it lasts.

Hello there!
I'm a "Kept Woman," too...but not of my own wishes. I had to leave my job due to illness and my hubman is working for the both of us. He never complains, even though we had to let our house go - fortunately, we found a mobile home in a nice park - but I'm still learning to be humble. It doesn't come naturally!
I am so thankful that we are able to keep a roof over us because I realize how many people in the world would be thrilled to have what I have now. God will supply or needs - not our wants.
Good to see you again...
~~~Blessings~~~
Well, you just go on enjoying being a kept woman while you can, Sandy. Sounds like you deserve it. As you say, it's a pity your husband can't relax, too. Never mind, your time will come.
Enjoy your week.
I enjoy being KEPT too! I just wish it didn't have to involve keeping another party! But I am still clinging to that young idea that I will "someday be able to sit back in your chair with your darling mate and watch the sun go down in the evening and come up in the mornings." Please don't burst my bubble! It may just be a spit bubble - but it's MY bubble! *g*
Oh Sandy....this is so dear! I do love your sentiment. Tho, don't consider yourself being a 'kept woman' at all. YOU WORK...if not for a paycheck, you work for your hubby, and he works for you. It's a mutual thing and a loving thing.
I'm with you on this all the way. What better time in your life but right now? Having grandkids, being able to stop, pack up, and go to your parents if need be. Life and family are the important things. And living from the porch watching a sunset with yours...it couldn't get any better. You don't need money for that. Really.
you sure are blessed with a good husband.
Sandi, I think being a "kept woman" has many advantages along with those you mention....but for you and your dear heart, I know my husband at the moment loves it when he comes home to a warm home the open fire alight and the smells of a lovely dinner coming from the kitchen, he loves hopping into bed on fresh sheets and knowing his sox draw is filled with "paired" sox......on second thoughts I think I am off to work tomorrow (smiles) just kidding! it is wonderful being a woman "kept" by an even more wonderful man.
