Good Morning to everyone!! I am up early for me that is!! It is so cool and comfortable here in our home once again...WE ARE THRILLED!!

Yesterday the air conditioning people spent a whole day from 8-5 working on putting in a new air conditioning/heat pump system in our home!! This so worked out so wonderfully!! God really helped us get this new system. I believe even more now that God not only works out our problems but also our difficulties!! This one was one of them!! WOW!!

Yesterday also for me was a work day...one more day to go!! It was a full day. After I finished working, I took a friend out for her birthday!! She is a whole 69 now and of course not happy about the next birthday!! That is just incredible. It won't be long and I will be looking at that age too!! The way the months fly by it will be here before we know it!!

Last night I was invited to a reunion of our old MOPS group! First of for some of you that do not know what MOPS is...Well it stands for Mother's of Preschoolers.

When I first moved to Savannah in May of 2001, they were just starting this group at our church. I was made a mentor for the young girls and had hardly got all the boxes in our house emptied. Our daughter had moved to Savannah first. She was in the group that started the first MOPS at our church. She had them take me on as one of the first mentors. That is why I had a job before I even was completely moved.

We had a great time for 5 years. Our first meeting was on September 11, 2001!! I am sure ya'll remember that date!! We had to go to church that morning and decorate for the meeting which was to be held that night at 7:00!! I had gone over to pick up my daughter and that is when I saw the second tower get hit!! We did not start out on a very good foot that day!!

We went ahead to church even though everyone just wanted to stay at home and be close to their families. We knew that we could not cancel it because we did not know who was coming. We had a very very light turn out. The other sweet woman that was also a mentor found out that morning that her nephew was at the top of the tower. She went directly home. We found out later that he did not make it.

I say all of this to tell you that getting back together last night was great!! I could not stay long but our first "fearless leader" was back!! It was a surprise and everyone was so happy to see her again. Out daughter and she were best friends and have lost track of each other. So to see Becky see her friend was just pure JOY to me. They cried!!

We blogging MOMS always keep our cameras in tow!!

Three of our original steering team members will be leaving us and traveling on to other states. I so hate to see these girls leave but I know their futures will be better for these decisions that they and their husbands have made.

Look at these lovely women that I was privileged to work with!!

I hated to have to leave so early but i was so tired from getting up at 5:30 that morning and hubby was waiting on me back at home. I went home, picked him up and we went to eat!! I was not really hungry (yeap me not hungry)!! I really was just more tired!! What a long day!!

My parents have been plagued with tons of rain and tornadoes!! Does anyone feel like we are having more bad tornadoes this year!!?? My folks have some streets flooded in their small town in Illinois. More rain is to come...AND here we sit wishing for rain!! I am starting to wonder just what is going on...hm!!

Hope everyone has a great day!! I just got the new PHOTO HUNT list so am not playing today but will be back next week with the word...EMOTIONS!! WOW!! Now there is a picture to find!! Happy week looking for that one!! smile!! I guess I have a good one already on here with Becky and her friend...Becky was in tears!! Several were when they first saw our FIRST LEADER!! I love surprises!!

FLIP FLOP

Thought for the day: "FRIENDSHIP isn't about whom you have known the longest; but about who came and never left your side."

Sandy,
I enjoyed reading your post today...and especially your thought at the end of it about friendship.....

Sandra said she planted a flower and I don't remember the name of it but the next year it came up further down from she set it out the year before and every year it moved a little more. She gave some to a friend and it did the same thing....I'll have to find out the name of it...I've heard of 'walking onions'....so maybe....

Glad you came to visit....I'm anticipating my surprise....maybe today is the day....Betty

What a great post today Sandy! I'm so glad you're air got fixed! That is a huge relief! You'll have to email me the details of God's work!

What an exciting evening you gals had! It's too bad you were so tired! I'm sure you would have enjoyed it even MORE had you been feeling "fresh". But it's great that Becky and her friend got to re-connect!!! How cool!

I'm not sure if there are MORE tornadoes this year -- or if the weather path has just changed so that YOU are noticing them more -- being they are near your parents! I know the last several years we have been drought drought drought around here - and now THIS year we are being clobbered with storms regularly! But I think that's just the way the pattern has shifted for this year. I'm NOT complaining!

What a nice surprise for you daughter and everyone at the reunion! Glad you are cooling now :) It was 103F yesterday and suppose to be same here. no breezes just humid. I relented and turned the window unit in the bedroom on so I could sleep comfortable. The rest of the house I am holding out on and just using fans and closed curtains. Hope you have a restful weekend.

Your blog was very interesting, now aren't you glad you went to the MOPS program, even for one minute, I am sure it was worth the time. One should never be too tired to do those things, as when you get older, you really are too tired or just can not go, so i say go girl go. I always enjoy your blogs and read what the girls write, nice people you have become acquainted with, that should make your seratonun (sp) really be doing its thing and theirs too. Love you mother & Dad

Sandy,

Enjoyed your post. I'm glad the AC is working. God works in mysterious ways. We never know what He is going to bless us with.

We have been blessed with gifts of toilets, paint, painting supplies and other things since we've started this project. It's going to turn out great. We may need to call in a plumber but are going to try to do it ourselves first.

Thanks for your words of caution. We are resting today and not doing any work upstairs. I did a couple of loads of laundry and some other household chores that I was behind in. Hubby relaxed and did a couple of odd jobs.

Take care and enjoy your weekend. The reunion looks like it was a lot of fun.

Blessings,
Mary

Hi Sandy,

I am so glad you have a new air conditioner. I don't know how you stood it without one.

Have a good week.
