TUESDAY TIDBITS!!

Just like this little kitty seems to be stepping out of her comfy chair...this is the way I feel today!! I just want to stay comfy and not go or do anything!!

It is cool here today for the Southeastern USA!! We have so much warm weather that when it gets cool well we feel like we are freezing. Me being a transplant from Illinois, should understand cool weather, but after you live here for a time then when the cool comes...it is COLD. I love wearing jeans and sweatshirts so I like this time!!

Today is at least sunny so I do not feel like I need to go to sleep. These past few days have been dreary and tired seems to be my mood!!

Our neighborhood is about ready to have yet another party!! I have the invitations done and if I can get myself up and out of this house today....I need to go pass them out to everyone!! We are having a HAT party this time...You are to make your own hat and come to the party in it!! I hope this will go over good!!

Grandkids have to be picked up this afternoon after school so that means homework!! UGH!! Oh well, hopefully I will understand it!! Smile!! Soon...ever so soon they are going to get ahead of me...hopefully they will be able to do it themselves because when it come to Math especially I am just NO GOOD!!

Grandchildren are the greatest thing!! I think better than children sometimes!! But when you have a crisis like we had this past Sunday then you really realize just how much you love them and how much they mean to you. We had a little thing with our oldest!! I am sure that she has learned a lesson. Also I am hoping both of her sisters did too!! Something good has to come out of her family and her grandparents being so upset!!

Hubby's work as slowed down but we are still smiling here!! God is good and He will provide!!
I get to see him more this way...always look for the good!!

Well this has been a bit of ramblings, hasn't it? I have to get my speech ready for November 10th. I am speaking at a ladies meeting. They have asked me to speak on Curves. I am not scared just wishing that it was over with!! Smile. I will be fine when I am speaking on something that i believe in!!

Guess i should get to writing down a few notes....the 10th will be here before we know it....Halloween is tomorrow!! Fun time for the kids!! I have my candy all ready....it is the kind that I do not like!!

SUNDAY SEWING CLASS...GRANDDAUGHTER STYLE!!!

Madison has been asking and asking me to teach her how to sew!! I have been so busy that finally today we both got together. I started out trying to explain the machine. She picked that up really fast. Then we went on to sewing a straight stitch. She practiced and practiced but she loved putting the 6" squares together so much that i was totally surprised how straight her stitches were!! I think she is a natural!!
She hated having to pin them together but she understood right away about fronts together!! I was just amazed at her skill and listening. Also how long she stuck with it too. Remember she is only 9!!
Here you can see that she is really trying hard to get the material to cooperate with her. She had to get the hang of holding onto the material just right so she could make a straight stitch!!

As you can see she did stick with it and did a great job!! Wow!! I am the most surprised grandma. She is the first of my granddaughters to ask me to teach her how to sew!! My old machine is still cooperating too. I have had it for a LONG time now!!


Here she is with her completed patches all sewn together all by herself!! I was just AMAZED!! Don't you think she did a great job!!?? Sorry I am a proud grandma!! I love all of my grandchildren very much!!

THANKFUL THURSDAY!!

Once again Thursday has arrived and the end of the week is near!! My how time flies by!! It is just incredible. This next week is November already. November is the month that almost everyone that I know has a birthday!! Soon I had better concentrate on buying up a BUNCH OF CARDS!!

This Thursday has me thankful for several things...so far!

• Our son Jon is okay and did not have to evacuate in Southern California
• I have a nice home to live in and am not threatened by fires.
• We got our car back this week and it is working great!! Now i can drive again!!
• My parents are in great health and loving their lives right now!
• My children are doing well and no problems...that is that I know about!!
• The weather is cooling off here plus we had rain yesterday!!
• My health is great.
• I have a good job that I really like
• Hubby is still working and doing great. Work is picking up too!
• I have so many good friends!! What a wonder!!
• I have a Savior that loves me!
• I got a new cell phone this week..It's RED!! FUN color!!
• Blogging buddies that share my faith in Christ
• Freedom here in the USA to worship as i choose, to do as i choose!!
• Wonderful husband who loves me and over looks my faults
• A great family!!

What a list!! I could just keep going on and on!! I am so thankful for this day!! How about you?

Thursday AM UPDATE!!!


Just received an email from our son. His city has let them know that they are out of danger!! WHEW!! This old worried mom feels a lot better!! Off to work now....

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

I know this is "supposed" to be wordless but OH well...my site..right? Our son is saying now that behind that big mountain (BIG JOE) is Camp Penleton!! They are starting to worry if the fires make it there and hit the ammo the...you know what will happen. Also there is a nuclear plant close too!! The drama and stress is still going on out there. I have not heard from him this morning because of the time difference!! I bet he did not get a lot of sleep last night..Continue to pray for that area. Jon has a good head on his shoulders so we trust him to make the right decisions at the right time.

Our son lives right in the fires and well I am sort of worried!! This picture below he took this afternoon....I have been online with him most of the afternoon and tonight.



This pictures is from just a bit ago....it is has changed...flames are now being seen!! He says he is not worried and not ready to leave yet!! Hm....
This big mountain you can see right out his front room window!! I see flames and if you enlarge this well I would be going NOW!! I tried to say that once they say evacuate it is going to be a mess with people trying to get out..GO NOW!!


I have to trust his judgment!! I told him that we do trust him to do the right thing...help I am just a mother!!

TUESDAY TIDBITS



My day has been busy but then again MOST of my days are busy so what is NEW!! Our car was finally ready to be picked up this morning!! I have really missed our car!! Silly but i love to drive plus i like being able to go when I want too..Spoiled!!

Hubby took me to pick it up around 8:30 this morning. We have found out that the dealer that had the car the other day did not do what he said he had done. We had two recalls that needed doing. Our car was acting up. It needed these recalls so that it would operate correctly. Thinking that the dealership knows what they are doing we took it to have it done. Picked it up and the light was still on telling us that something was still wrong. We took it to a mechanic that we trust. Long story shorter...the dealership did not fix the whole problem. Our mechanic says that a lot of times when they get a recall they just fix the simplier of the problems and do not do the harder. Well, this is what they did on our car. Only our car kept telling us that something was still wrong. Our mechanic says we should go and confront them. We have proof now!! I am just happy to have it back.

My cell phone has been not charging correctly. I went to AT&T and explained. Walked out with a new RED ...yes RED...Samsung phone!! It is fun and I am going to really enjoy it.

Hair cut day!! Thank goodness...this took some of the dark brown color that I had put into my hair...AWAY!! It was just too dark for me. I had to work just a couple of hours at CURVES for my friend while she went to the doctor. We are going to be having some exciting new things happen at CURVES!! I really like my job!! I am starting to get more hours too which is great!!

Came home and saw our son, Jon on line. I have been talking to him most of the afternoon. He is the middle of that fire in California. I am very concerned for him of course!! He was taking pictures and sending them to me as he looked out his diningroom window!! Oh technology!! I could not live without it now!! He showed me the huge smoke cloud that he sees. It just keeps getting bigger. He stayed at home today because he works in Irvine, Ca and they have had a lot of fires there. He says he is packed up and ready to go if they call an evacuation. He will have to leave his sports car and take his truck. That will kill him for sure!! He needs the truck to carry as much of his valuables as he can. Pray for that area now. So many are losing their homes and everything that they have worked for. It is so sad!! (I was going to show you a picture but blogger says NO)

It is warm here today...around 85 or so..Sun is shining!! I wonder when FALL will hit here!! Soon i hope!! AT least we are not having fires or hurricanes!!

AWARD DAY!!

I have been SO BEHIND...thanking everyone who has given me an award lately!! I cannot imagine WHY!!?? Smile!! BUSY YES!! I want everyone to know that I do appreciate these awards but I am not passing them on anymore!! I believe that everyone that comes to my site is SPECIAL!! I am thrilled and humbled that you would choose to come and see what this ole' lady is doing!!

My first award (but not really in order) came from Grams and Donetta!! They seem to think that I am "totally fabulous"...OH YES that is definitely ME!! SMILE!! TIRED, OVERWEIGHT...YES but fabulous...Oh well.




The next great award come from my friend Linda at THIS AND THAT!! I think that she and I could be good friends if we just lived closer. But blogging has helped a lot to get us to know each other. I am so sorry that she could not come to our recent get together!! That would have been great to meet her in person. Maybe next time!! THanks Linda!!

This one comes from Rachel....She lives in the Philippines!! One of my favorite countries since my good friend /foreign exchange student comes from there. Rachel has a cute son and a husband that cooks!! My kind of guy !! Thanks Rachel!!!

SUNDAY QUIET IN SAVANNAH

One week has come and gone and our Blogging Babes Blast is all over with!! Just one week ago and the ladies were arriving. There were lots of hugs and screams all around!! Now Savannah is quiet!!

Funny how you look forward to something and then you wake up and it is all over with!! This was our 2nd get together so we are hoping for a 3rd one in a year someplace!! I so enjoyed having everyone here!! SURE I am tired!! But it is a good tired!! I had a good nap!! I did not stay up at night as long as some did..DAISY AND JEN!! I knew that sleep would be important to my poor body!! I was one of the oldest too and i guess that makes me know that I needed to take care of myself!! Hm!! The others just could not stop talking!!

I have been going through pictures this afternoon trying to rename them and see what doubles we had. Everyone uploaded their pictures here on my computer so that we could make CD's for everyone. I still have to make BABA a CD but I ran out!! We sure did a lot of picture taking!! Man..there are gobs of them!!

I am hoping to scrap our good times sometime! That means that i have a lot of picture developing to do!!

SATURDAY AND THE GANG'S ALL GONE!!

Saturday afternoon....all is QUIET!! Our household has been considerably reduced this afternoon!! We went from a BUNCH OF BLOGGERS to just little ole' me now!!

Daisy arose early this morning!!. They began packing and cleaning up!! We had Krispy Kreme Donuts sitting in the kitchen and a big pot of coffee!! Oh how I have a love/hate relationship with Krispy kremes!!

Melli had never seen how they are made SOOOOOOO we had to stop there last night after eating at Logan's Steakhouse!! I tell you I have eaten so much now that my clothes are too tight for me!! EATING out can do that to you!!

Melli walked in and I found her a Krispy Kreme Hat so that she could have a great picture!! You know how much she LOVES HATS!! We then looked at all of that fattening stuff being fried. She had to try one and the nice girl behind the counter gave her a free sample!! Died and went to heaven...taste!! They are good but you might as well just WIPE them on my behind!! That is where they mostly go anyway!!

We bought....yes we bought some to bring home!! Oh no!! Not the best of ideas!! There are still some in the kitchen...Maybe they will just GO AWAY!!

We went to Savannah Mall and took some crazy pictures!! Then back home. More talking but hubby...said I am out of here. Off to bed he went!!

This morning after all of the loading took place Melli, Daisy and myself went to SONIC to EAT!! Oh yes..More eating!! They brought me home and now they are on the road to deposit Daisy in North Carolina with Mr. Wonderful!!

Tomorrow is his BIG INTERVIEW!! If you could please try to remember them between 2-3 o'clock EST!! I know all of your prayers will be more than appreciated!!

Now I am back to just me and hubby...dirty clothes...beds I need to get made because our grandson comes tonight to stay!! WHEW!! I am a hotel in disguise!!

Nope it has been a very fun week!! I would do it all over again in a heart beat!! Blogger are some of the nicest people that I have met!! Ya'll should try this in your areas!! It is fun!!
