THURSDAY ALREADY!!!

This week is flying by just like all of them do anymore! I am getting older by the day but inside I still feel the same that I did years and years ago. My outside looks a lot different and when I look in the mirror I often wonder who is that person that I am looking at? That old lady...Hmm!! The one with the wrinkles and the funny looking face? OOPS!! Guess who? It is me!! Funny how quickly this all happened!! It happens in about the time it takes you to turn around and you are there...older than you ever thought you would be.

My husband just bought me a really pretty top that I love. It is pink and has some beautiful writing on it that I like. Plus he got in from a CLEARANCE rack ( my favorite place to buy clothes...Plus the only place) at the Cracker Barrell. Here are two of the sayings on this beautiful top. "I never dreamed I'd look this young at my age" and "Every day is a Miracle day". Aren't those nice? I think so too!!

I recently received a good list from an "old" high school friend of mine that I thought fit this topic. I know it is Thursday Thirteen but I am not really up to Thursday Thirteen yet. I need to work my way there I guess. Here is the list that he sent to me...........

HOW TO STAY YOUNG:

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay "them!"

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. "An idle mind is the devil's workshop." And the devil's name is Alzheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9 Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is. (guilt the gift that keeps on giving)

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Good Advice...Now just learn to accept it and DO IT!!!

Dear Sandy... It was so nice of you to stop by and leave your good wishes. Trapped nerve is still bad, but I'm trying to take advantage of that little period of time when the pain killers kick in, which allows me to get on with a bit of blogging, I'm missisng it so much!
I do hope your husband's hand is improving, I send best wishes for a speedy recovery.
I like your Blog, your pictures make me smile. My daughter emailed 'How to Stay Young' just a few days ago, yes, its very apt!
So you are way down there in Georgia, experiencing slightly different weather to us I guess, a strong cold wind blows out there. Do you live on the coast in Savannah?
I'm longing for things to improve, that goes for me and the weather so that I can get out in the garden.
I shall call again soon. Love - Marion
