Home Once Again!!

This dog was happy waiting for his master at the Steak N' Shake in Illinois
He was rewarded with a hot dog!!

We had a wonderful trip this time but now we are back to reality and back home!! We drove well over 2000 miles...Oh I mean Mikey drove over 2000 miles. We had the best weather because in Illinois and Missouri they were having their coolest summer in some 150 years or something like that.

We arrived home yesterday afternoon after stopping in Atlanta to see the McCoys (daughter and family). They were there seeing the Atlanta things but not having the best of times because of the weather. It just keeps raining. Guess that our area has been having rain a lot. Like right now it is pouring down, but it is nice since it is so HOT here!!

We had such a great time, seeing old friends..some that we had not seen in years, Old neighbors, long time ago church friends and just reconnecting.

My last blog (I know i am way behind) showed some sweet old friends meeting us a a wonderful Italian restaurant in Normal, Illinois. We used to live in Normal. That is an interesting name of a town to live in. Many jokes happen over that when you say where you are from.

We got my parents back home and now they are settled back into their apartment and life style once more.

I think this was one of our best trips because of all the old friends. Two couples I forgot to get a picture of. We were deep into conversation with both of them and it just slipped my mind for some reason. Too much talking!! Smile.

We are glad to be at home now. Savannah is our home!!

Off to church now!! Mikey is already there. He has to usher both services tonight. I would say that I will be around to see you but I am so behind in so many things right now..Give me some more time. I have missed seeing how everyone is. I know that we went past a lot of you too...I waved at Denise as we went through Chattanooga!!

Here are a few of our old friends:

Good morning Sandy, welcome back home!!! I love the picture of the dog waiting for his master.. too cute.

It sounds like a great trip you and hubby made in your RV...you did meet many friends along the way.

The rain looks like it will stay around for a long time..
Talk to you later.

It's lovely going away and you have fun. But it's so nice to get back to your own home and sleep in your own bed, I find.

Glad to have you back, Sandy.

Your friends look SO nice...I'd like them if I got to meet them. I'm glad you are safely back home. That must have been quite a trip! But special in so many ways.

Welcome back to the dog days of summer in Georgia. A little wet and humid, but the temps haven't been in the 100s... thankfully. We're in our pattern of afternoon pop-up showers. Sometimes they cool things off and then again the sun comes out and you can't breathe... but it is home :-)

I am so glad y'all had such a good trip.

I do not believe I have EVER seen a DOG on the back of a motorcycle. Nope... I'm pretty sure I haven't! Nor do I think it's a terrible SAFE place for him to be! Dog's don't have helmets OR leather! Hope his owner is a verrrrrrry safe driver.

Sounds like you guys had a blast! It's great to go back to visit! (but good to get home to, huh?) ENJOY that rain! It could be DROUGHT!
