Finally Old Timers

Yeap, I guess you can now call this couple here at this home in Georgia...officially OLD!!

WE went yesterday to the Social Security office and stood in line just to get in...Finally got in and took our number. Waited some more (I knitted while we waited). We were finally called to our person and was so happy that we got the very same SWEET lady that we got when I went in back in the Spring!! She is so knowledgeable!! Mikey is now officially a Medicare recipient!! We hope that our country can keep Medicare rolling or well we are going to be in a BIG MESS of problems..One day at a time. Our next step is for him to sign up for Social Security at the beginning of next year...I also will sign up for Medicare then too!! We sure have been together and LONG LONG time now. Something that still gets me is that my parents have lived long enough to see at least ONE of their two children go on Social Security!! How funny is that??? Just tickles me for some reason!!

If you live here in the good ole' US of A and getting close to this "Magic" time of your lives, you should go find out all that you can very soon. It is quite complicated..or at least I think so. I don't know why they want to make it so!! I think the government thinks that if we complicate it then the Older Gang will not get what they really need and just die! SMILE!! I am so afraid that someday we will see OLDER FOLKS living in tent cities just to make it!! Seriously!!

I did not tell you about the weird dream that I had about 2 weeks ago. Maybe it will sound silly to you but it has really stuck in my mind. I remember that I was fighting someone..like they were trying to get me to settle down. I remember looking at the wall and saw a calendar that said 2050!! I then realized that I was OLD. People were trying to get me to be ...GOOD!! I settled down. My next thought wat that makes our youngest daughter in her 70's..wow!! Then it was over...just like that. I have never seen numbers in my dreams and don't know what to think about it..but it was a different sort of dream for me!! For SURE!!

Just washing today and going to work this afternoon...some dream day right? Well yes someday that might turn out to be a dream day for me!! (read above)!! Smile!! I don't have a lot of work this month but next month watch out!! I am going to be a busy gal!! I LOVE working at CURVES because I like the people so much!! They are all so sweet!!!

Off to get some work done this morning!! Another HOT one here for us!! What is new..

FLIP FLOP
Thought for the day: definition of wrinkle: "Something Other people have similar to my CHARACTER LINES!!"

Good Morning, I agree with your theory that if they make medicare complicated enough, we won't fully understand our benefits.
I am happy to hear how much you enjoy your work. I am doing laundry also today. I have one new plant in the yard and I dread going out to water it!!!

Dreams are such strange things. But it is sooooo rare for me to remember one! I'm always tickled no matter WHAT it was - just to remember it!

I was at the doctors today - and I do NOT look forward to the Medicare age! OUR insurance is NOT great - but it is better than nothing! I won't mind if we still have our insurance AND Medicare to back it up though! THAT would be nice! Mom has Blue Cross/Blue Shield AND Medicare - so she has no medical expenses... and that works GREAT!

I'm sure that Mikey is very glad that all the paperwork has been done and that he's now officially a Medicare recipient!! I'm not sure how complicated it is here in Canada, but no doubt it involves a lot of paperwork as well! lol

That sure was a weird dream you had and makes you wonder what it all meant! I dream about really strange things often:-)

I so enjoyed the post regarding your dad's birthday. He looks great and such a beautiful smile he has! xoxo

I didn't realise you had to be a certain age to get Medicare in the US. We all have it here...it's part of our lives. We have to apply for the pension, naturally and then the price of prescriptions drops even more. I hope they keep Medicare going for you.

Have a good week.
