BECAUSE OF A WOLF IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING

"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves." Matthew 7:15

Once upon a time in not so far far away land there lived a pastor and his wife. They decided they wanted to plant a new church in a very small Midwest village. Their intentions were to be a good shepherd and lead God's people.

They gathered together a small bunch of people who wanted to start a new church in this small small village!! They followed this pastor and his wife. Good times were had by all. They met on Sundays and Wednesdays. They played games, went to eat together and had many many good times as a small congregation!! God was in their midst.

Then one day a wolf came to their church. Oh, he looked just like one of them. He was dressed just like all of them but inside he was a wolf.

He took up a teaching job in this small small church and many were so happy. The small group of people were so delighted that they were learning more and more about their big book that was called the BIBLE. This wolf also had a beautiful wife and small children to make the entire picture more complete.

Life went on in this marvelous NEW HOPE fairy tale until one day the wolf and his family let down their masks and the "Wolf" appeared.

Time went on with problems now and again but no one knew that soon wolf # 2 would be appearing.

Wolf #2 was in the form of an older gentleman this time. He stirred the pot very vigorously. The saintly pastor and his wife decided that it was time for God to move them away from this church that they so loved.

The parishioners were stunned. They were also divided!! Arguments and gossip reigned supreme.

A new shepherd came to divide the sheep from the goats. He knew that he was going to have a problem solving this hurt bunch of people.

This fairy tale is not over...yet...but it cannot be ended..."They lived happily ever after"...not yet anyway!! Prayer is what is needed now for this small group of believers.

NOTE: This is not a fairy tale. It is still happening and today this pastor and his wife are turning in their resignation because of a wolf in sheep's clothing!!

That was a very nice post today and I love your site too. Thanks for stopping by for a visit, I always love hearing from you. We left home yesterday and will be here until Monday, then we are leaving for Savannah. As much as I really wanted to meet up with both you and Baba, I doubt if time will allow me to do that. I have 3 of my grand daughters with us and I think Tuesday we are going downtown to do the trolley, then the River Street, then eat somewhere while there. Wednesday, we are going to Tybee Island and beach for the day. Then Thursday their Moms will arrive and we're doing it all over again. :) Savannah is my favorite town on the so I'm sure on my next trip I'll have the time to go to lunch with you both. I'm so sorry, it didn't work out this time.

Love Ya,
Chris

I HOPE that NEW HOPE doesn't have anything to do with New Hope! I also hope this isn't happening at YOUR church... of course, your church is not a small small church...

Oh that happens far too often and I pray that God surrounds those that could be hurt...... We must be so vigilant and watch for the false prophets as they come in sheep's clothing....... Prayer going out for these precious believers.........

Sandy,

I have been through this time after time. Cliques and people who are wolves in sheeps clothing. Now I do not attend church but worship in my own way. I've been hurt many times as well and enough is enough. Unfortunately for them, these wolves will have to answer for their deeds.

Blessings,
Mary

So very sad.

Unfortunately, with the pastor and his wife giving up their vocation, the wolf has won! And it will keep happening until the wolf is dealt with...God will do that.

Hi just stopped by to visit from Denise's blog and am so glad I did. You are so right and that wolf is found in every church, ministry, anything that is from God. Prayer is the answer, great post.
God Bless,
Deb

This story could be told all around the country. Not sure how to stop it, but I DO KNOW THIS, God can use this situation for good, if His people allow Him to!
Believe this... GOD IS IN CONTROL!!
Praying for all concerned!!
