Show and Tell Friday

Welcome to “Show and Tell Friday!” Do you have something special to share with us? It could be a trinket from grade school, a piece of jewelry, or a treasured collection. Look around your home for something to share; dig through those boxes in your closet if you have to! Share photos and the story that goes with your special item.

I started this last Friday so thought i would continue this week since I thought it was a fun way to catalog some of my favorite things in my home. If you would like to play just go to Kelli's and sign her Mr. Linky!!

First of all this is a picture that is hanging in our dining room right now!! I have always loved it. I saw it in a store when we lived in Illinois and told my hubby how much I loved it!! At Christmas that year it showed up under our tree!! I hope that you can BIGGY FI it so that you can view it!! If you have the time let me know what you think is going on in the picture!! It is one of those pictures that when people come to your home they have all kinds of things to say about it. If you were here you would be able to see it so much better..Sorry!!

This is just part of my cut glass that I have received from my mother and her from her mother!! I love the big pitcher. I don't think you can see the pitcher as well as I would have liked for you to see it. i would go take another picture but my camera just died...(someone forgot to charge its battery!!) Hm!! I have a lot of pieces!! I think they are beautiful!! So much fun just to look at them.. Hopefully my oldest daughter will take these when I am through owning them.

In Other news:

So far they say that Savannah has been spared from Miss Hanna!! I am of course thrilled but now am thinking of Peggy over at Hidden Haven Homestead! It looks like it is coming straight at them...plus her hubby is away from home. She has had to make sure everything is all tied down and her animals will be safe. I really have felt bad for her. I was having a time wondering about just little ole' us and Annie let alone a whole bunch of animals!! Please be thinking about Peggy today especially...Thanks..

Also remember to be in prayer for Denise over at Shortybears Place!! She is having quite a time lately with her health!! It very much concerns me.

Hubby is home today so this is going to be short!! Looks like we are going to be taking off!! Take care wherever you are today!!

FLIP FLOP
Thought for today: " One thing I can give and still keep..is my word"

Sandy,

Love the picture. It looks to me like an angel is calling the lady home. She has a faraway look in her eye as if she is seeing something that we can't. A lovely picture.

I will drop over to Peggy's and keep her in my thoughts and prayers, as well as everyone else in the path of Hannah. We are getting rain and winds - the tail end of Gustav.

Take care and have a great weekend.

Blessings,
Mary

Hello my friend, Sorry I have not been by your blog this week. I am so far behind I may never get caught up. Have a wonderful weekend.

What a wonderful picture. To me, it looks like the elderly lady is despondent, maybe a litte or more. Her life is inactive, her health and energy fragile now. What she doesn't see or realize is that her loved ones gone on before to be with Jesus are loving on her from above, and perhaps God in his love for her, sends ministering spirits to love her and bolster her mind and soul. Sorry that was longwinded..grin. You asked! Those hurricanes must put huge clouds of worry over so many. I believe God is behind them trying to get America's attention. When I hear someone say 'God Bless America' I sometimes think, yes, but when will America bless God? ....I'm with you about forgetting to charge up the camera batteries. How many times have I had that happen to me???? That many & more. Your Mom's cut glass is lovely. Take care...I hope everyone reaches safty from the terrible hurricanes...everywhere.

Y'all have FUN today whatever you get into! It does appear that Hanna will pass you by! And it does appear that I WILL be visiting with her at the BEACH this weekend!!! Probably driving through her to get to the beach! Yeee Ha! Now I'm trying to decide "weather" to take the car or the TRUCK! LOL!

I love that picture in your dining room -- and since we already discussed it when I was there, I will refrain from putting my two cents in HERE! :) But I'll be back to see what others say!

The first impression I got from your lovely picture is that the woman is an invalid (maybe Alzheimer's or something like that) and she is being comforted by a guardian angel or loved one that has already passed.

Hi Sandy,I got my laptop computer fixed and running faster by my neighbor. He did a great job and the speed is faster .. love it....

Your picture looks like an angel is reaching out to comfort this lady..I need to see it closer the next time I visit you at home.

I was at Curves for the 4th visit this week and walked for the fifth day in a row..only one pound lost.I need to drink more water and give up sweets...."bad Baba"...

Ok, I big a fied it...and here goes. The robe on the elderly lady and on the younger one is the same. The rose is losing it's petal. I believe she is ready to pass and is being led by an angel possibly in the likeness of herself through. I like this picture. I can see why it brings lots of conversation.

What an interesting picture. I think it is an older lady thinking about her life and the inset is her at a youthful age.

You cut glass is beautiful. What a treasure and heritage to hand down.

I love the picture. I think the lady in the chair is thinking about how it was to be young. I had an older friend who once confided in me that she thought the younger women of our Church were excluding her from acitivities because she was older and not needed anymore. She said she didn't look at herself that way. She still saw herself as young. I felt very bad for her.

Maybe the lady in the chair is very lonely and an angel has come to comfort her????

Thanks for the awesome post. :-) Debbi

What great treasures!
I think there is an angel gently telling her it's time to go home...the way her hand is reaching out to her.
Blessings!
