No Bake Strawberry Dessert

I thought i would post the recipe that i made today. Many of your probably already have it but just in case here it is:

NO BAKE STRAWBERRY DESSERT

  • 1 loaf (10-1/2) angle food cake, cut into 1 inch cubes (I used a regular cake)
  • 2 pkgs sugar free strawberry jello
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 package (20 oz.) frozen unsweetened whole strawberries, thawed
  • 2 cups cold milk (used skim)
  • 1 pkg. (1 oz) sugar free instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 carton (8 oz0 frozen Cool Whip (reduced fat), thawed
Directions:

Arrange cake cubes in a single layer in a 9x13 glass baking dish. In a bowl, dissolve jello in boiling water; stir in strawberries. Pour over cake and gently press cake down. Refrigerate until set about 1 hour.
In a bowl whisk milk and pudding mix for 2 minutes or until slightly thickened. Spoon over jello layer. Spread with whipped topping. Refrigerate until serving. Yield 20 servings...about 92 calories per serving!!

ENJOY!!

Sandy, this recipe sounds wonderful. I will copy and paste it to my recipe files. I've been making strawberry shortcakes way too often lately just using angel food cake, strawberries and cool whip. So yummy.

I tagged you for a meme. If you don't want to do it, it is okay with me as I know how busy everyone is these days. It is an easy one, not hard at all. Up to you.

Have a good week.

Yum, I will be giving this a try!!!, thank you for sharing and for coming by to visit me at k-kat. Its been a trying week with getting an insect bit...probably a tick we think that now has me on antibiotics. I'm just online for a minute to text message my son. He has a flight out on business and Mom thinks he should be home packing...grin. I'm never to old to offer advice, even if its ignored...Mom & Dad still know best, right?...grin.

Sounds yummy. Am going to have to make that this week. I think the family will love it.
More storms tonight so will have to get off here soon. Will send some rain down to you :)

That sounds so good. But then there is someone like me who could never get jello to set. Maybe my daughter could make it for me because it sounds good for a hot day.

YUM! I'll have to try that! I would use FRESH strawberries though - this time of year!

YUM...that looks so good and is low in calories, too. I love sugar free jello. I might try this for dessert one night this week.

Hey grandma! This is Katie, your granddaughter. I have a question about your recipe... What is the point of having a frozen thawed strawberry? Isn't that a little redundant? :] I love you! ♥

I don't like strawberries, but even I think this looks like a yummy dessert. I'll have to show it to Ethan. He likes trying new recipes, and he LOVES strawberries, so he just might have to give this one a try.
