Monday Memories

Today I have been thinking about how fast my dad has almost become 90!! We have been going through pictures and are making a DVD for him for his upcoming August birthday!! In doing so and sending them out to my brother in Arizona, I have come across a lot of pictures that I want to share today!!

Funny how fast time goes!! Once you were a very good looking young man/lady and then one day you wake up OLD and with all of your past energy just gone!! I guess this is the Life that we live here while on earth!!

My parents are just like everyone else. I have one favorite picture. Guess i should find it and scan it. They were having a good time in Chicago!! GREAT picture!! I have some here that I can post because I have scanned them. Aren't scanners great (thanks to Mr. Wonderful over at Lazy Daisy's Blog)!!

Here are some that I think are special:

What a good lookin' couple!! You know even if you see my hubby and myself when we first started dating..we look so completely different!! Too bad you know.

Here is one with me in it:

As you can see I was just a baby then!! Man have I ever changed!! WHEW!!

Also in going through pictures I wanted to show you a good picture that I have always liked of my Grandpa Smith!! He was the nicest man!! We lost him when I was about 12 I think!! I so hated that. I was the oldest grandchild and probably one of the only ones that still really remember him!!
My dad looks a lot like Gpa Smith!! He was a very gentle man and of course a farmer like
everyone was in my life at that time. He led a quiet and relaxed life. I know that if he came back today and saw all the hussle that we go through he would be very surprised!! Just like so many of my ancestors would!!

Can you just imagine what they would all think about all the technology? WOW!! That would be something to introduce them to it!! Show them how you can have your picture taken and see it instantly!! Go on line and found out almost anything that you need to find out!! Scanning pictures, cell phones, TV, computers, digital cameras and so on and so on!! I would LOVE to be the one to show them all of this!! WHAT FUN!!

Hope your day is going great for you!! All is well here!! I found this yesterday so thought it was good to share..."If you need help ask God; If you don't THANK GOD!!" GREAT right???

FLIP FLOP

Thought for the day: "As you slide down the banister of life, may the splinters never point the wrong way!!"

I really loved going down memory lane with you! such a cute baby you were! I am making a dvd of my mothers side of the family with all her old photographs. Going to give one to each brother. It helps keep memories of loved one alive. Then I will have to make one of dads side.

I enjoyed reading and seeing your old pictures. You said how things have changed since your grandparents were young. It's hard for us to imagine what our grandchildren will say about us. Technology is advancing so fast.

It's been a typical Monday here. Laundry and odds and ends. Hope you are having a good day.

Hello" Just saw the blog site for the day, you do a good job, wish i was young again, I was really not that bad looking and wasn't Dad a good looker? No wonder i fell so hard for him. He still is not too bad looking, he still looks the same to me, just hope I look the same to him, probably not though. Just feel the same today as we always have, so that is good.
Love the pictures and sure is bringing back a lot of memories. i gave most of my pics to you and Ron, so do miss that, but when they get the DVD done, think we will have something to really enjoy. You kids are the best, thanks for being ours, God is good all the time. We have been very blessed. Love you mother & dad

Those pictures are wonderful. Yes I am thankful for modern things, but love the simple life.

The old pictures are really wonderful! What would we do without scanners? Thanks for sharing.

I think I need one of those power sprayers at my house. It looks as though it does a great job and I can only imagine the change that it must make.
