What for? Well they say snow!! We got up this morning to see that all of the schools here are closed and well there is nothing going on outside!!
Like my dad said, " I must be blind!" He isn't because if he is...then that makes me blind too!! When I was a kid the only way we got to stay at home was to see tons of snow coming down in a blizzard then we finally got to stay at home. Guess they have changed things. Now if we are under a storm warning then you just stay at home....Hm!! Would never have worked when I was young!!
I remember being in high school here in Illinois. We would have so much snow that we could walk on top of it over the fences. I was raised in the country so usually we got to stay home more than the town kids did!! We lived in a house that was so cold...the wind just came through the walls it seemed like. Boy, i remember that cold...so so cold..bone chilling!! We would sometimes put on all of the clothes that we could just to keep warm. Course no TV...so we would play games or just read. As a teen I remember being just plain bored!! smile!! Now it seems okay to me...growing up!!
Now we are having ice coming down and snow plus wind so this should be a fun day. It is 28 degrees here compared to what our daughter just told me in Savannah. She said it was 60 there!! Oh well, we are here in the fun Midwest!!
Yesterday we went to Champaign to take my folks. They do not get to go to a "big town" much anymore because they do not like to drive in much traffic. Course to us that is not "much traffic" but to them it makes them nervous.
Mother was looking for a laptop. We found one for her. Now she gets to learn how to use it. It is very nice and makes mine look like an old lady laptop!! She has 3 gb!! I think mine only has about 1...They do not sell laptops with that LESS of memory on it anymore..so shows that my laptop is really old!!
We had a good time. Came home and the weather started getting crazy. Our reunion planning session was cancelled....due to weather!!
I need to get out and read all of your blogs now. I am so behind...i apologize to everyone!! Just give me some time and i will get there now that I have found some wireless!! smile.
Hope you are all doing great!! Hope your weather is nicer than it is here!!
Oh it is Wordless Wednesday...guess I should post that too...so here goes!!
I am so sorry..it is only Tuesday and it will be that way ALL DAY!! Melli just let me know. Remember I am away from home and all the days just run into the others!! So now i do not have to post a WW tomorrow. We will be traveling anyway!! So see i am just ahead...Smile

Well Flip-Flop, you threw me for a loop ! I haven't read your blog for awhile and when I read that we were looking for snow (?) I wondered what in the world?...... I mean, I know we live a couple of miles apart but the weather couldn't be that different!!!
Then I continued and found out that you are somewhere else! Whew! Well, that's what I get for not keeping up with my blogfriends !!
Have a great trip and a safe return to warm.
Linda
Welcome back to Illinois. We are getting sleet here today. Sunday was the Spring teaser. It was 74 that day. I am so ready for the warm weather. Maybe I'll hitch a ride back to Savannah with you and Uncle Mike!
Jeanine
Ohhhhhh boy! I hope that snow STAYS away from ya! We are being TEASED by spring today!
I LOVE - I mean I really LOVE - that your Mom stays up to date with technology! New things don't scare her a bit!!! That is soooooo cool!
I'm not SURE -- but I THINK today is only Tuesday! Unless I slept through Tuesday... *scratches head*

Good afternoon Sandy,Why does the snow like to follow you everywhere???Your mom will have fun with her new computer...I only have 1gb on mine...what brand did she get??/The two of you working at the table is a cute picture..
Wishing you and Mike a safe trip tomorrow in the snow...can he still work around the crazy weather??
Take care .... hugs, barb
Hi Sandy:-) Like you, I'm amazed that they now close schools when it's just a storm warning or such...I remember having to go to school even when we couldn't see where we were going! lol Hopefully it didn't get too bad over there. I love it that your mom is into computers also...I wish my mom would be but even her answering machine scares her! lol I only have 256 megabytes of memory on my computer...it's over 7 years old...when Shawn was here over the weekend he told me to buy 1GB of memory and I'll notice a huge difference:-) I can't add more than 1GB on mine. That picture of the cat and dog is just too precious!! Take care and say hi to your mom and dad from me:-) xoxo
The weather is really nice here today. NO snow or ice. It is 29 right now but seems warmer and the ice is melting YEAH!!!! See ya tomorrow.
In the where I grew up we had a floor furnace that was between the living room and dining room and each morning I would jump out of bed and run to stand on the furnace. Brrrr.
I love the picture of you and your Mom. She looks like she is really concentrating. You will have a blog up and running for her before you leave.
I had to smile about the WW on Tuesday. That's not as bad as me getting into the wrong car last week. It wasn't locked and it was white. LOL Mine is white. Thank goodness the owner did not show up and accuse me of trying to steal their car!
We are having rain here, take care sweet one.
Snow? Oh boy, wish we would get some more. I love the snow but can do without the ice you all are suppose to get.
I so admire your Mom for using a computer at her age. I have often said, "take me on to the nursing home as long as I can bring my computer with me", lol!!
Nice to hear from you ! That must be a big weather difference if it is still so cold in Illinois. I remember my aunt complaining about the cold weather in Madison in winters.
It's great that your mother wants to use a laptop at least she goes with the time !
You must be having a good time if you don't know what day it is. Hugs to your mom, and dad for me. Stay warm and safe. Miss you.
Just read your blog and what your friends had to say. Well hey gals one has to keep up with the world, don't they? I love the computer, I am a computer nut and my husband Dale is a TV nut, so we do fine together. I am only 83 and I have a lot to learn, Sandy is a good teacher, just hope i can remember what she told me. Dum-dee-dum-dum. Sandy miss you already and thanks for everything. Take care ang hug Mike for me. Love to you both. Mother & Dad.
I think that they say that everyday is Saturday when one is one vacation. How did Wednesday pop up????? Sounds like you are having a grand trip and actually enjoying the snow. It's nice to be only visiting, I'll bet. Hope your mom enjoys the computer. That is quite a learn when one gets older.
Hi Sandy, Isn't this weather something else! Over 50 years ago when I was in school it was like you said!!!! We sure didn't get many snow days!! Your Mom and you are so cute with the computer!! Love and Hugs Carolyn
Hi Sandy. Glad you're spending quality time with your family.
It's been a little cold here too especially at night. I know it's not even 1/4 of the cold weather that you are experiencing there but I like this weather we are having right now except for the on and off rain showers.
Take care and best regards.
