Sunday Blessings...Family

Brie, Becky and Madison
at the Savannah St. Pat's Day parade

Today i have been thinking about family!!

We had to take Brie to the airport this morning..EARLY so that she could get on the plane and head back to Illinois and home!!

When we got up this morning the electricity was out so it was fun getting ready with a flashlight and a couple of candles!!

We headed out around 6 am in the dark since everyone around us was dark too!! We got her there in plenty of time. WE both hated to have to say good-bye to her but we knew it was coming!! She says that she wants to come back. We both hope so anytime.

She called us from Atlanta to let us know that she had made it there. Then around 3:30 her parents called from Chicago saying that she has made it home. I am sure that they have missed her!! Hard to have that FIRST one leave...she may go away to college in the FALL!! I remember how hard that was on us!!

She had a great time at the parade with Aunt Becky, Uncle Roger, Garrett and Madison. I was glad that she had the opportunity to go. We tried to keep her busy most of the week, but I think that she enjoyed just being here alone at times. She learned knitting and scrapbook card making!! Wonder what we can learn next time?

Today is just simply gorgeous outside!! I went out and cleaned out all of our flower beds. Here in Georgia we use pinestraw and put it around our flowers. Then in the Spring you rake it all up and start over again. I have it all off now so need to go buy new pine straw and put it around my flowers. i have a couple of plants to plant also!! I love making the outside look pretty with flowers. Our azaleas are blooming now. Everywhere in Savannah they are showing off their beautiful colors!!

Hope your Sunday has been as good as ours has!! Back to normal life starting tomorrow!! Smile!!

FLIP FLOP!!!

Oh how you must have enjoyed your time with Brie. It's a shame that all good things must come to an end. I'm glad you all had a nice time.

Do people actually buy pine straw??? I didn't know that.

Glad you all had a great time. I know those are treasured memories for sure.

Hugs,

Susan

I wish we could get pine needles here. We have to buy mulch and it seems it washes away by mid summer. When I lived in South Carolina we had so many pine trees in our back yard we never had to buy the pine needles.

I'm planning on working on my flower beds this week. I've only seen a few daffodils blooming up here. Mine are only an inch tall.

I am happy your visit went well...now you can begin looking forward to her coming back...lol.

I love it that she learned some new crafty things to do!

My daughter got me a name tag with flip flops on it and I immediately thought of you:).

It was gorgeous out yesterday! I need to find flowers I can put on the patio for shade. We get very little sun, only in the morning, here at the apartment.

It looks as though everyone enjoyed the parade. After the weekend of wild weather, it must have been a challenge to get home for Brie. Glad that she made it safely. I know that the memories she made will last a lifetime for her.

What a nice picture of your "green" girls, lol! We don't celebrate St. Patrick's in Belgium only in Ireland and a little in the UK. Our flowers are coming out too, the trees are getting green and I think I can wake up from my hibernation !
My cat Lisa has a depression (no kidding) and has to take the happy pill every day ! I didn't know that cats and dogs can get that too ! Sounds very posh doesn't it, lol !
