My Morning!!

Just thought that i would write about my 'FUN DAY'!! Seems like i always have the ODD things happen.

Yesterday was my day off and I worked on our closet taking out things that I no longer needed (did not touch hubby's things)!! I worked all morning thinking that the buzzing in my head would soon go away. I knew that I had not taken a lot of medication or anything like that. I knew that I was extremely tired but that I needed to get my closet cleaned out!!

By afternoon I had to lay down and I slept.

This morning I worked the DAY SHIFT. At our Curves that means from 6:30-1:00 pm. I really do not have much back up so if you are not feeling well...You go in anyway!! I dragged myself out of bed of 5:30 and headed into CURVES around 6:20!!

I felt awful!! My legs were killing me (always)!! I called my daughter because I was sweating in air conditioning!! Hm!! Head was still buzzing too.

Someone said to take my blood pressure. It was 137/97!! That for me is high!! I finally took some motrin for my leg ache thinking that my pain was causing me to have high blood pressure. I again called Becky. She said to wait for about 30 minutes and if I felt the same to try my B/P again. This time is was higher.

Women would come in and see that I was feeling bad and again I would take my B/P!! Higher still....Finally I called my mgr to see if she would come in for me. Several women kept asking if they should stay with me...fearing that I was having a heart attack!!

My final B/P check at CURVES was 208/119!! Well that was it!! My mgr walked in and I walked out to our Prompt Care place. I walked in and asked if they would take my B/P..."Maam we do not take your pressure unless you sign in as a patient. Showing the girl my numbers I said," Don't you think I should?"

I got in there and my pressure was something like 189/90 something!! The nurse said to get to my doctor. I called and got in with a PA. I was going to have to wait about 1 hr and a half. Called Becky again!! I was headed to the doctor. She said to tell them about the high pressure and they should get me right in.....FINALLY!! I made it to see a doctor.

This I am thinking was a "blessing in disguise"!! I got in and my pressure went to 160/90!! Getting better. I felt fine except for the ringing, my face was flushed and I was extremely tired!!

She kept asking me questions. Finally I told her that I had quit a medication. Well, this medication has to be eased off but i quit it cold turkey. It was very expensive and it had done nothing for my legs (why I had been given it)!!

Diagnosis: My body was in a chemical shock from stopping this medication...too quickly!! Now I am on a schedule to get off of this medication.

Blessing: IN all of these years since I have had such leg pain and carried around this pain....NOT one Doctor but her actually tested the pulse in my leg and checked out my circulation!! DUH!! She said that I had the BEST circulation and pulse that she has seen..WHEW!! My grandmother died from this and since my leg pain has been going on for about 12 years now I was afraid that was what I was having too. She suggested the new medication LYRICA to me. She thinks that this will help hopefulyl rid me of my legs pain. Some thing to look forward too..something that JUST MIGHT WORK FOR ME!!!

After I get myself back up and feeling better I am to start this new medication. Please pray that it takes this pain away that I have suffered with so long.

By the time I left her, I was in tears because I have never had a doctor work with me on my leg pain this much EVER!! I have needed some help and answers for so so long now. I gave her a hug...something that i have never done to a doctor!! I have needed medical help for such a long long time!! This pain has been taking over my life for way too long!! I just need to feel better!!

She sent me home with samples and also a prescription for a relaxer so that I can get my body back into its regular way!!

She said to go home, take the relaxer and sleep!! Build myself back up again...

So all in all I sort of did this to myself...BUT I hopefully may have found someone that will listen to me...someone who actually cares about this pain I have lived with so very long now!!

Pain has literally taken OVER my life and has taken JOY out of it too!! I try not to complain, but this had just been WAY too many years now!! I know that many of you bloggers know the feeling!!

Thanks for your prayers ahead of time...BACK to my bed now!!

Sending up prayers for you. Have a restful weekend. Please say a prayer for William. After being home for 4 months he went back on the road only to have his truck break down. It may cost $8,000 or more to repair. Trying to keep the faith and not stress so much but its been a rough week.

I am so glad this story has a happy ending. There are lots of drugs out there that can do a lot of harm if stopped abruptly but often no one tells us. I will pray that this new medicine helps, no one should have to suffer with such pain in this day and age. Blessings!

OMG, Sandy, when I read your high blood pressure numbers the first thing I thought of was a stroke. Thank the Lord it was neither a stroke nor a heart attack. That must have scared the crap out of you. I pray that the new medicine will help the pain in your legs to be no more.

I am so glad that you got to see a woman doctor who listened to you. I have been having severe leg pain for about three years and my doctor kind of brushes it off. He did send me to a diabetic specialist who told me to walk. I could barely walk across the kitchen let alone walk the 20 minutes twice a day that he suggested.

I'm not sure what causes this severe leg pain. It was constant for over a year, then eased off for a bit and then came back. I had it when we visited Florida just after Christmas. I was so slow walking. We would have seen much more had I not been in such pain.

Yes, pain can take over your life. Like you, I try not to complain.

So glad you got the medical attention you needed. Rest and take care of yourself.
