Our 44th Wedding Anniversary!!

Another year has rolled around for hubby and myself and we get to celebrate yet another anniversary!! wow!! It does not seem like we have been married this long!! You know that is almost forever!!

I was only 18 and hubby was 19...so just think how much of both our lives we have been together!! We met when we were 14 at his brother and my cousin's wedding. He was very shy and would hardly look at me....but 2 years later we were dating...plus we lived 40 miles apart (one way that is)!! I believe that God had these plans for us!!

We dated for 3 long years and finally decided once I got into my Senior year that we were going to be engaged!! My dad told me either you take the ring or you go to college. You know what I did and have not once regretted my decision. My dad was very smart. He knew that i would probably not make it all the way through college...and I bet that i would not have made it either!!

So today marks another year here at our home as husband and wife!! We have so many blessings from our marriage!! We have raised 3 great children. Jon who is 43 now and lives in California. He works in the graphic design area of a large company. He is a supervisor. Julie who is 40 and lives in Northern Illinois with her hubby and 4 of our grandchildren. She runs a day care out of her home. Becky is our youngest. She just turned 35 and lives here in Savannah with her hubby and 2 of our grandchildren. She is a registered nurse!

WE are so thankful for the years that God has given to both of us to be together. I just pray that he gives us many many more years to share with each other. We both love each other more now than we did those 44 years ago. We trust each other, finish each other's sentences, know what the other one wants or needs without any talking, we are each others best friends, we understand commitment and devotion to one another!! This is what makes a good marriage. Plus our biggest part is having God that is the GLUE that holds it together for us!! Without that trust and faith i know that it would have been rougher than it has been.

Thank you my dear hubby for these great years that you have given to just ME!! I am blessed!!

Happy 44th Anniversary to you and your husband. You know you and I share the same anniversary date. I enjoyed your writing about how you two met and about the family you have raised. I agree with you that God is what keeps two people together for that many years. Ed and I have been married 33 years. We go to church together and prayer together.

I hope you will visit my blog today as I made mention of your anniversary and mine on my posting. I hope you don't mind sharing the spotlight with me and my hubby.

Maybe tomorrow or the next day I will write about how we met. It is an interesting story, or so I think.

Yes I remember 44 years ago today and what a pretty wedding you had. You had red and white as your colors and I remember I had to buy a red and white suit to wear, don't have it anymore, too many years have gone by. Well if you keep on you will put in 64 just like your Dad and I. God is the glue you got that right and just being good friends helps a lot too. Your Dad and I are very proud of the two of you, as it was pretty rocky at the beginning if you remember. Also your brother Ron and his wife Judy just celebrated their 31st anniversary on the 15 th after we celebrated our 64 on the 12th, so it is a family thing with us, right? Just keep hanging in, as sometimes it gets a little rocky, but then you just remember God meant this to be or it would have ended a long time ago. Very proud of you both. Love & Hugs. Mother & Dad

Happy Anniversary to you and your hubby, dear Sandy!! 44 years is indeed a long time in this day and age...wonderful to see it still happens:-) I've been married 31 years (I was 18 also when I got married) but unfortunately about 7 years ago we decided to go our own way, although we still share the house. It's just easier for us that way for now and we are still friends but that's it. I know I must confuse a lot of people on my blog about what my situation really is! I mention him as "E" every once in a while! lol All the very best to you and your hubby...here's to another 44 years:-) xoxo

Sandy,

This is a great milestone and you and your hubby should be proud. Happy 44th Anniversary.

If my first hubby had have lived, we would have been married 42 years this coming April. He has been gone for 31 years, which is hard to believe. My current hubby and I just celebrated our 19th anniversary in December.

I hope you and your hubby have many more years to enjoy your love. Yes, God helps hold marriages together. Without him the struggles would have been much harder to bear.

Blessings,
Mary
