"STEPS"

These steps are in downtown Savannah. They go down to River Street!! The reason I took a picture of these is because they are so very very steep!! I should have went down to the bottom and took a picture looking up but that would have meant that I would have had to climb "back up them"!! OHHHH!! Not a good idea!!

Also I decided to take a picture of the neat steps on one of the old homes in downtown Savannah. I love them!! I can never see them enough. I think the design is called OPEN ARMS!! I may be wrong!! They are so inviting!!

Sandy,
One of our favorite places to visit is Savannah. We spent several days there a couple of years ago and had a wonderful time. We ate with Paula and Bubba and several other places. We enjoyed the buggy ride and tour and River Street. The homes are beautiful and the shopping lots of fun.......

I really thought you would have posted "the loving arms steps" one side for the ladies, one side for the gentlemen. That's my favorite steps in Savannah.

I'm having trouble with steps at the moment but love your pictures.

I love those Open Arms steps, that curved design is so beautiful and must be much harder to build than regular straight steps.

The 'open-arm'steps are really cool. I can picture myself as a southern belle, in a long gown, flowing down those steps into the arms of my waiting beau! I have a very vivid imagination....LOL Nice take on Steps!!!

I'm with you -- I don't think I could have talked myself down and back up just for a picture!

I love viewing old homes. I've always wanted to visit Savannah.

I repeatedly hear that Savannah is the most beautiful city in this country. I am beginning to understand why from your photographs and descriptions.

I remember both sets of steps...but I remember another set too...there is a set going up from the river that is a tiny, very narrow, very steep set of rock steps...I found those and like to never squeaked up them!!

Nice shots. I just got back from Savannah, but only got a few shots-darn battery died on my camera- whaa!!
I did get a couple of good shots that I posted last week, though. I suppose that means I must go back soon.

That first picture looks like a steep staircase!

Say "Hi" to Paula Deen for me. ;-)

Thanks for stopping by today. Your prayers are most welcomed.

Hugs.

I came close twice to visiting Savannah. Once was during a roadtrip from Philadelphia to ended up in Beaufort, South Carolina, but didn't have the extra time needed to extend the trip down to Savannah. Another was when I visited a friend who lives in Atlanta and he decided to take me to Chattanooga (he's a native of Tennessee) rather than Savannah. But seeing your pictures, I wish it was otherwise! ;(

Open arms, I would love to see those steps time and again, too, I love the slight curve in them.

I think BOTH sets of steps are neat! I DO love the ones on the house too -- but would not really care for bringing groceries home to live there! ;)
