Number 137

Appetizer
What are you proud of?

I am most proud of my children and our grandchildren!! I feel like I did the best job that I knew how to raise our three children, Jon, Julie and Becky with what information I had at the time. Now there is so much out there but sometimes too much is just that...TOO MUCH!! Maybe I was better off!! I am proud of the way they have turned out. I am proud of their lives. They each have went into different paths. They each have chosen their own lives with different careers. They live in three different states ....:-( I miss two of them a WHOLE lot!! I am very proud of the 7 grandchildren that they have given to my HONEY and myself too!! VERY PROUD!! Oh did I say I was PROUD!! smile!!

Soup
What is the best thing you’ve ever won as a prize?

The only thing that "I" ever won as a prize was a rocking chair!! I was so happy to win it because I was pregnant with Jon, our first. We did not have a rocker let alone much furniture. I put my name in thinking boy would I love that!! My name was drawn!! I still have it too!! One of those things I would hate to part with!! It is also one of those that when you rock in it, it also walks all over the room!!

Salad
Name something you do that is a waste of time.

Some would say what I am doing now!! too much computer time and that may just be it!!

Main Course
In what year of your life did you change the most?

The year that I "began" changing the most was the year that I accepted the Lord into my heart!! I began to understand that he forgiveness was what I had been looking for all of my young life. I started to understand that life was not all "about me". I discovered that others were important and that I needed to understand that. I have grown so much since that small beginning back in 1972.

Dessert
Where is a place you consider to be very tranquil?

I think that place must be when I am sitting here in my computer room studying my bible!! Our neighborhood is really quiet during the week. When the windows are open and the breeze is coming in. I can hear the birds singing!! That just makes for a nice quiet and tranquil time for me. God is good!! It makes for a nice quiet time with God also.

Great feast Sandy. Love your rocking chair story. I didn't win a rocker when I was pregnant with my first but hubby did buy a very old rocker and refinished it for me.....we still have it.
Thanks for stopping by my feast.

Good feast! I enjoyed your main course, which ties in with my appetizer---in a roundabout way, concerning my oldest. :-) Very good that your tranquil spot is in your home!

I love the rocking chair story. What a memory! And I'll bet rocking in it now, makes them all flood back. You have every right to be proud of your kids and grandkids...they are your fingerprint on the world in my opinion.

Have a GREAT weekend!

Hugs.

:-) Susan

Sandy,
I had an email from Marion's husband, John, this morning and he said she went through her surgery fine and back on the ward..He said he will update soon.

Talking about rocking chairs. We had friends stationed in Japan years ago when their son was born. Japanese don't have rocking chairs. She carried a picture of one to a carpenter and he built one for her. Where there's a will there's a way!

Such a wonderful feast Sandy!! Love all your answers...like you I'm so proud of my two boys and how they've turned out:-) I don't blame you for never wanting to get rid of that rocking chair you had won...such an opportune time too! I just bought myself one and it's one of those "travelling all over the room" ones too! lol Have a wonderful weekend my friend, I'm off to the Sugar Bush:-) xox

Hi Sandy. Thank you very much for your birthday greetings. I'm really grateful for your kind and thoughtful words.

I've been a little busy and wasn't able to play along for FF. I'll just play next week.

Winning a rocking chair when you were pregnant was great. In the Philippines, people believe that pregnant women are very lucky when it comes to raffles, contests, games, etc. I tried my luck when I was pregnant but sadly I didn't win the lottery. ha! ha!

Take care and thanks again for being so sweet.

This was a lovely feast! It made me smile and agree the whole way through. And a rocking chair - that's quite a unique prize.
Sorry I couldn't get to do this one this time...

Blessings, Betty

Wonderful feast! Your choice of music is one of my favorite's of Beethoven...And yes, the Lord's calling in my life was the most important also. Without my faith I wouldn't have been able to bear the sadness. Grace, indeed!
Soli Deo Gloria!
