Genesis 2:19 "Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and all the birds fo the air. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name."

We are very heartbroken here at our home tonight. With each passing day our hearts break a little bit more because our cat LUCY has not come home.

DISCLAIMER: For those of you who are not pet lovers just stop reading now and go to someone else's blog because this one is NOT going to interest you at all!!

My hubby and I have had pets for, Oh I would say at least 40 years of our 43 year marriage...why...well I guess because we love animals!! We have had dogs, cats and once a couple of gold fish...Susie and Charlie. They did not last long but they lived at our house for a few days or weeks.

I am not good with dogs but I do LOVE cats. They are quite tempermental and THEY think that you are living in THEIR home!! We have had smart ones, tempermental ones, cute ones, very dumb ones, very stupid ones and then there were the best ones.....those we will never ever forget!!

We had TIGGER for 16 years!! He grew up with our youngest daughter, Becky. When we finally HAD to put him to sleep, she cried for days afterwards. I hated to have to do it. BUT it had to be done...unfortunately!!

We moved to Georgia and hubby told me that we would NOT have any more cats!! OKAY!!

One day my daughter told me that there was a litter of cute little kittens at a vet she knew about. I realized that if I saw them that was all that it would take. SURE ENOUGH!! I came home with the sweetest little grey kitten. We named him SAMMY!!! He loved me and I loved him!!

One day we decided to try and find another kitten for SAMMY!! We found SIMON!! He had no home and was a real tiny baby kitten. We brought him home on a Friday night. The next night we were at church. While we were there our home was robbed and SAMMY got outside. We looked and looked for him....for 6 months in fact!! Never to find him!! I cried and was so sad!! I hated those robbers for that!! SURE they took things from our home but they as much as took our friend from us and that was way worse than things!! This was our friend!!

I had heard that red cats were great cats to have. Our neighbor two houses away rescues animals. She had a red cat. I went to see her. They called her SUNSHINE!! I brought her down to see how SIMON would react to her. He just ignored her and she just took over the house like it was hers. That is when we adopted SUNSHINE and renamed her LUCY!! (red head...she should be LUCY)!!!

She moved into our house and fit right in!! She was thin and short haired...ONE day it was like she grew up and turned into this Beautiful LONG haired cat!! We also figured out that she was part Maine Coon!!

Now she is gone!! We pray all of the time for her. Tonight we have had 4 phone calls asking if she is home!! She really loved!! We are sad!! Why do we keep doing this to ourselves? We love God's creature! God put them here for us to take care of so I have to believe that He will listen to our prayers for her!!

GOD LOVES EVEN RED KITTY KATS!!!

Oh, I'm so so sorry to hear about Lucy! I know I would be devestated, I think it's almost like losing a child... The worry... phew...

I wish I could swing my magic stick and make her stand on your porch suddenly!

I hope your kitty find hers way home soon. I've experienced the heartache many a time and I can understand how you feel. I just lost my favorite ferret yesterday to the Rainbow Bridge.
