MONDAY MEMORIES

Time once again for those good memories to come out!!

I have been thinking alot lately about how wonderful and blessed I have been all of these years to have been given the BEST HUSBAND that any woman could have ever been given!! Yes, I know some of you have been given the "BEST" one too. Just for this blog, I have been given the BEST!!

See, isn't he a cutie here with Flip Flop and our first son back in 1964? Some of you youngsters out there were not even born yet and probably not even thought about yet!! We were quite young ourselves...just 19 and 20!! We really had no idea what to do with a baby but by the grace of God and the sheer will not to let him die, we made it and he is alive and kicking out in California today at 6 ft. 4 inches tall. I guess we did okay.

My hubby has worked at all kinds of jobs, sometimes 2 at a time just to get us through all the hard times in our lives. He would go to one, come home sleep a few hours and then get up and go to the other one. All the while I was at home trying to take care of the kids, getting them up, some off to school, babysitting with other people kids and doing whatever I could to help out too.
But hubby was always there doing everything. He has had jobs that paid almost nothing just so he could take care of our family of 5. He has never once complained either....never!! I really admire him!! He knew what his duty was to his family and just set his mind to do it and never turned back. Man, that takes true dedication!! He is one of a kind to me!!

Sounds like you got a great man. Too bad there isn't a greater abundance of models like that!

What a blessing! And really, you all were married so young at a time when it became so "normal" for marriages to fall apart. Hooray for you for standing strong and raising your family. And hooray for him being a TRUE MAN!!!!

You truly are blessed. And don't forget what they say...behind...or beside...every good man is a good woman, so I'm sure he was reflecting off you too!
You are both heros in todays world for setting the example of sticking through and reaping the rewards.

Hey Babe, sweet memory and what a cutie John was. Miss you, wish you were here with the group. Vickie Hummel has been singing your praises!

From your comment on Thanks for the Memories

I'd like to buy the world a home and furnish it with love,

Grow apple trees and honey bees, and snow white turtle doves.

I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony,

I'd like to buy the world a Coke and keep it company.

[Repeat the last two lines, and in the background:]

It's the real thing, Coke is what the world wants today.

Best wishes

Ann (aka granny)

All I can say is wow!!! Aren't we two of the most luckiest women on earth?!!! I feel so much the same way with my hubby as you do with yours.

Sometimes, with all the divorces these days, I think they broke the mold after they made my man.....and now, there's two of us.

Just awesome, and I love how you wrote about him, with so much praise.
I haven't had time to do any blogging today, came home to drop stuff off and will be out and about once again in a bit.

Happy day to you.

You were a darling couple/family back then ... and I'm sure you still are today! And I'm thinking he's as lucky to have you as you are to have him!

You know... I do complain about my hubby from time to time... but the fact is that he IS a keeper! He has provided quite well for this family ... and most of the time when I complain it's because I'm a greedy spoiled brat and I want even MORE than he has provided me! (and I don't want to work either!) I've been very fortunate that I was able to stay home with my children and raise them. I did babysit and I sold Tupperware... a few little odd jobs here and there to help out... but mostly my job was to BE HOME, keep the house and raise the kiddos! I did it and I LOVED doing it -- and for having that opportunity I truly am forever grateful! I guess I should tell him that a little more often! ;)

I should also tell YOU that I am proud of you too! You come to my blog all the time telling me how proud you are -- but you ARE doing a great job with your weight and with your exercise too! It gets soooo much harder to do this stuff at our age! But I have found that if we DON'T do it, life in general is so much harder to live! An hour or two of exercise each day makes MY day so much easier to get through!

I wish you could be up here with us when Lazy Daisy and I get to meet! She's gonna make it! And I can't wait!!!

I love the tribute and the picture. It sounds like you have a winnder, dear Sandy! In today's day and age where marriages don't last, it's so wonderful to see a woman who is still "in love" with her husband! :)
