I just finished reading "The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe". I love to read so I have no idea why I have missed all of these years this great book. I am reading all of the chronicles. I wanted to finish the one that I mentioned before I went to see the movie first!!
This afternoon I just decided that I was going to go see it by myself!! I am SO GLAD that I did. I feel like I have been in a mystical fairy land but also in a land where I understand more about my Lord and Savior now even more than I did before.
If you have not read this great story I suggest that you go right out, buy it or go to the library and get it and sit down and read.
I have been a Christian for almost 34 years now. This story that was written by C.S. Lewis is so wonderfully written as a fairy tale for children but so well told that adults will find such great symbolism that you will cry and then be so overwhelmingly happy all at the same time.
Aslan the lion is symbolic for our God. He is so majestic. He is so full of life. He seems to fill the whole screen. You know he is the King!! When he says "It is Finished". You know that our Jesus said that from the cross and then you realize how he felt. He died for us and took our place just like Aslan did for Edmund.
I truly loved this movie. Through tears and happiness and regret I had to leave that wonderful story and the theatre.
Take my advice and take yourself to a good movie for a change.

Yes, it was a very good movie. My 15 year old read the book 7 times and said it followed pretty close to the book.
