Monday Musings

Well i am now offically...a Senior Citizen..i guess!! Went to the Social Security dept today and i signed up for my Social Security to start!! We have to have some kind of income coming in so next month at this time we will have a little more. This way I feel like I am helping out some....I am excited to think that I can be of help financially!! i am working part time at Curves but that does not bring much in either...

It was not as hard as I had expected because we had a very nice intelligent kind lady that helped us to understand just how things work. Mike was going to see how it would work for him but it will be so much better if he waits until next year. He will be able to make more income if he waits till his 66th year!! We both learned a lot today...

I will be getting medicare next February but of course that is going to come out of my Social Security income!!

We really need some good news lately as the news here has not been the best with Mike having NO work to really speak of or get excited about!!

I feel some better anyway so that is very helpful to my self esteem!!

Remember the young lady that does my nails??? I posted pictures of her baby shower..Well yesterday she had her 3rd child. She had a girl and she will be Alexandra I think...they all are named Alex!! I know you will remember that little fact for sure..So now they will have GIRL, BOY and BABY!! I am sure that is what they will be calling them. I am glad that it is over with for Helen. She is a very nice young girl. It is almost a miracle.. what she can do with nails!! Oh, I know I should stop doing that...and i know that I should but I am still able with the little bit that i make at Curves!! I really am not at all vain..but i know it is sounding that way...You have to treat yourself to some things in this ole' world!!

Our son in law is sick along with our grandson, Garrett...They both have the same thing whatever that is..Fevers and just ill!! I hope that we do not get that here!!

Not much else for today except it has been cold but we were fortunate not to get the snow that many of you have!! We are just that farther South East so that we missed it. This afternoon it is 46 here and very sunny!! I love the SUN!!

FLIP FLOP
Thought for the day: "He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much." Good thought!!

I am still amazed that someone would name each of their children "Alex". What are they thinking????? That would be so confusing.

Hi Sandy,
Glad to hear you'll be able to get your Social Security. Extra income in these times is a real blessing..
I still can't get over three children with the same name!

DH and I were talking recently about the "cost" of nail care. I told him that I certainly would be willing to give it up if I ever HAD to...but it IS a thing that makes me feel good and I truly enjoy. Love the picture, Sandy!

Sending you big hugs...:-) Susan

I'm glad you have a little extra income coming in.

I would have my nails done, but I can barely breathe when I go past one of those places :-)

Love the footsie picture :-)

Hello Dear Sandy....

Its been interesting to read about your Social Security scheme..... yes, I agree, every £ or $ counts these days.

Thank you so much for the birthday card I received from you and Mike together with the precious little Christian quote cards.... lovely, I shall use them as book marks.

Hope you are both keeping well. I head about the snow that has been falling on parts of Georgia... goodness! that doesn’t happen very often does it! Here in Wales it is dull, raining & cold..... I thought spring had arrived last week it was glorious..... but it can’t be far away now. Have a blessed week dear Sandy, thank you for holding me in your prayers. Bestest Love - Marion

Hi Sandy... thanks for the information on Social Security. Glad some one I know is benefiting from it!!!
I know what you mean about "treating yourself". I admit that having my nails done is one way that I treat myself. For me it's the pedicure that is really the treat!!
Praying for you and Mike!!
Love,
Sharon

Good morning Senior Citizen, It is wonderful to get our social security checks every month!!I started getting mine at age 62 because of having to retire early with bad knees.I had a cut in the amount of around 350.00 dollars per month, but my retirement checks from the hospital make up for it..

Have a good day..I need to go walking at the mall ... talk later.
Hugs, Barb

Signed up for mine last month and will get my first check in May! Hard to believe that I am old enough for SS........ but! Here I am..... I will not get medicare for another 3 years but my check each month will go right into a savings account..... We want to pretend that it is not there and let it build a bit........ I think we are in for rough waters this year...... Economy is getting a bit unstable..... I will continue to pray for work for your sweet hubby! Love the toes picture!

I like that picture. It reminds me of a laid back and peaceful time.

I hope that your son in law and grandson are feeling better now.

Take care.
