The Little things in Life

Where have I been lately? Hm...good question!! I am either getting lazy or just not remembering to blog..Really though since I have had to slow down..for about 3 weeks now there is really nothing to write about. I have to look for the small things in life which are usually the BEST things in life..Right?

I have my knee repair surgery this week on the 26th..Thursday. Something that just crossed my mind is that the 26th is the day that Mike and I started going steady some 48 years ago!! Funny..I know..only ME..I would remember this. Mike had absolutely NO IDEA!! Men just do not seem to remember dates like we do. Little did I know 48 years ago when I was something like 16 that I would be having knee repair surgery...crazy world!! I will not be as happy on this March 26th as I was back then..I was very very happy and already in LOVE!! Seems like an eternity ago!! To you that are young reading this IT IS!!

I had the privilege of taking our granddaughter Madison to church this past Saturday. Mike is an usher every other Saturday night. This was his Saturday to serve. I have to sit alone so it was fun having her with me. If you remember she just recently accepted the Lord into her life and was baptized. Time for communion came and I thought..WOW Maddie can take communion now...So i tried to have a quiet talk with her about this and she seemed to understand. She was so sweet..That girl has a HUGE heart..I just hope it never changes..EVER!!

I am really missing exercise but cannot go until after surgery and my knee gets healed up. I never thought that I would miss it but my whole body is sore and it is probably from my knee but also from not moving like it had been used to for the past 4 years!! I hope to get through this surgery and mend quickly..thinking that the exercise and the flexibility that I have received from it will help me...

My cousin called me this morning to make sure that I am okay..How sweet..Right? I have a lot of people praying and that is what I need right now...Also prayer for Mike's jobs that are few and VERY far between...God knows!!

Trying to get my house in order before Thursday. I have our grandson to keep over night tomorrow night while his sister and mommy go to Sea World in Fla with her class from school. Being from Illinois that sounds like a great thing when you are a child but down here it is so different because we live so close to Disney World and all that fun kids stuff. They will be gone for 2 days and miss my surgery!! But that is fine I have Kathy and her Mr. Wonderful coming on the 27th to be here!! I so look forward to them coming but also am upset because I will not be able to run around with Kathy like we usually do..Oh well, I cannot afford it anyway so this way I will just have to stay home...

I just tried one of those new iced mocha latte from McDonalds..wow they are not at all sweet!! It needs some SUGAR!! Okay otherwise I guess but full of calories like everything in this life is.

Hope to get around to visiting ya'll...

Praying for you. My husband had his both knees operated 6 weeks ago. Partial knee replacements. He has gone throught all the physical therapy and has done well. Will not say it was not painful, but he says he would do it all again and so worth it. Good luck to you.

I will be praying for you on Thursday. You will be SO glad you had this done. You will be back to gallivanting before you know it!
I haven't blogged a lot lately myself, just haven't felt I have had anything interesting to say!
Take care my friend!

Woot! After your surgery you are gonna feel so gooood! On March 28th it will be exactly 3 years ago that I had both my knees replaced and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Sooooo worth it. Mike may have to hold you down after it is all over so you don't go out running around every day! LOL! Prayin' for you girl..Judy Bryan

Hi Sandy, when all of the surgery and PT is over, you will feel like a new woman..for now you can ride around Walmart in the go carts!!!

After my knee repair for the same thing three years ago, I was up and about and driving myself to PT in two weeks time.. it may be harder for you with your right knee being the bum knee...I wish I was going to be in town longer after your surgery so that I could take you to PT, if needed..
I am leaving next Wednesday for my sister's back surgery and don't have a return date.
I will see you and Kathy this week.. I will call first.
Hugs, Barb
