Home Again and Happy Birthday!!

This is our NOW EIGHT year old grandson!!
We pulled in last night about 6:15 and unloaded our car, backed the motor home into the drive way (not caring about our association right now) and got around and headed over to our daughter's home for dinner!! We were glad to have someplace to eat because we neither one were very up for much at all. We had traveled about 400 more miles yesterday!!

Mikey's cold is not great, but I think he is getting better just a little at a time. This is a rough and nasty...long lasting cold!! I still have some of it and it has been with me for over 2 weeks now!! Hard to get rid of!! Nasty thing!!

We came home and did a few things but managed to stay up and see 2009 come in...It came in much like last year only I think last year we slept right through it!! People were shooting off fireworks and having great parties!! Glad that they had a great time..getting too old me thinks!!

This morning we slept in and for Mikey to do that is quite incredible...so you know he does not feel good!! We are meeting our daughter and family at Red Lobster for lunch because today is our youngest grandson's birthday!! He is a whole 8 years old today!! He has a very special birth date...01/01/01...what a birthday and so easy for everyone to remember.

Each grandchild here in Savannah picks out their favorite restaurant and Garrett wants to go to Red Lobster (which is not a favorite of any of us)!! But they are allowed to go where they want to go...so at noon we are off to eat with everyone and to give him his presents. I bought one in Kentucky and one in Illinois...i hope he is happy with them....kids have so much anymore!! I just cannot get over it!! We only got one gift a piece from our parents at Christmas and i know that was hard for them to find the money to buy!! They were always special!!

Our son Jon..He lives in California!!

Hey I have some more GOOD NEWS!! Our son Jon finally proposed to his girl friend Maria on the 30th and she said YES!! So now we wait to see when the wedding will be and if we are invited!! smile!! We have never met her so we really would like to!! All we want for our son is for him to be happy and not to be lonely as he gets older!! He is very excited and sounded really happy!! Way to go Jon!!

Well that is about it!! We are definitely GLAD to be at home now!! We had a great time and loved seeing our family but that weather was just nasty!! Ya'll that live in that kind of stuff all of the time..I say MORE POWER to you!! You are hardier than me!! I know we lived in it for 56 years but I was young then and now I just want some comfort in my old age. My right elbow is all bruised and going to be all kinds of colors where I fell on the ice. My fingers are getting better but still too large for a ring!!

Hope you have the BEST of NEW YEARS!! God Bless!!

FLIP FLOP
Thought for the day: "Don't worry about tomorrow. God is already there!!"

Wow, I didn't realize that Garrett's birthday was so special! How neat that will be especially as he gets older. I have a son who always chooses Red Lobster too. He wants the Lobster, though!

Hooray for Jon!!

Praying for you and Mike and complete recovery.

Big HUGS and Happy happy New Year dear friend!

Glad y'all made it home safely. That is a lot of miles in one day. I know how tired y'all must be... especially not feeling well to begin with.

Congrats to the grandson on his birthday and Jon on his engagement.

Congrats to your son Jon on his engagement. Time for you to shop for your mother of the groom dress. You know the saying, "the grooms mother wears beige and keeps her mouth shut"!!!!!
