Tuesday Thoughts

Tonight we are in Manchester, Tennessee!! WE left this morning from my parents house about 7:15. We drove to Effingham, Illinois and stopped at a Cracker Barrel for breakfast!! As always we had a great breakfast. I was hoping that it would make Mike feel better but he is really stuffed up with a bad cold!!

We stopped several times today and finally have arrived here!! It is good to stop often, get out and walk some!! After my little fall the other night, I am finding that a few more things are hurting!! My fingers are finally getting better but still swollen!! They are turning purple!!

The weather has went from cold to just plain comfortable!! Also tonight we have water in our motor home and FINALLY I got to do the dishes!! They have been sitting since last Thursday but now are finally all done, dried and put away!! That is not what i usually do so was glad to get them all done and the tiny kitchen all cleaned up!!

Mikey is having a time breathing tonight!! This crazy cold is really getting him down..so i remembered an old remedy that my mother used to do when we kids.. You boil some water, put Vicks in it and then put your face in it with a towel covering all of your head. It just makes a great steam bath for you nose. Mikey cannot breathe so is having a time trying to breathe the Vicks in!! He keeps doing it. Hopefully in the morning he will be feeling so much better!! After all he is our driver!!

We saw a fire along the highway today!! It looked like a trailer with hay on it caught fire and it was burning really well!! The trailer was gone and of course the hay was not far behind...

WEll that is about it from the rolling home of US!! We have a long long trip tomorrow!! Hopefully the wind will not be high..that is our biggest problem!

I'm glad you survived the cold north (well for the most part anyway) and are headed to warmer climes!

Oh golly! Poor Mike... I bet all he wants is to get home and into his OWN BED! I do hope the vicks thing works -- I remember doing that too! And of course - vicks on the chest for a chest cold!

You're in my prayers! Safe travels!

I hope you and your hubby will feel better real soon. Traveling in an RV sounds like fun, glad you were able to get the kitchen all cleaned up. I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip.

Many sweet blessings!

I have a cold too. Yuk! I'd sure hate to be traveling with it.

I suppose you tried Dristan for Mike.

Happy New Year.

I hope Mike feels better soon. My Mama used to stand us in front of the heater in the winter time and grease our necks and chest up real good with Vicks and then pin a diaper around our necks that she had held in front of the heater to warm.

My sister-in-law says that Zicam helps with the colds.

I hope your fingers heal quickly. I'm sure a few other parts of you are achy and sore from the fall.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Dearest Sandy,

I'm back to blogging after my break and have so enjoyed catching up on your last few posts:-) Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas but what a shame everyone has that cold...hopefully you can all be rid of it completely very soon!! I'm sure you're happy to be away from the frigid temps now! lol The weather has been crazy here as well, we went from frigid to rain the day after Christmas and now frigid again with tons of snow. Depressing to think that Winter has actually just started. Ugh.

Wishing you and yours all the very best that 2009 has to offer. xoxo

Poor Mike, I hope he gets over his cold soon. He probably will once he is back in the warmer weather.

Glad you were able to get your dishes done at long last...not a very pleasant trip for you was it, with all that cold?

Happy New Year to you both.
