Sunday Sunday Sunday!!

Just a short blog..I am never short!! But this time it will be!! Hubby and I are up in Northern Georgia checking out Gainesville and the surrounding area!! We got here Friday and checked in at our great campsite in the woods and the mountains!!

We are right along Lake Lanier which covers tons of land here in Hall County!! I love seeing the mountains and the lay of the land is hilly and not flat like in Savannah!!

Hubby and i yesterday went to several of the small towns that are close to Gainesville. We checked out Dahlongea, Cleveland and Helen. Helen was jam packed with people..You could hardly move in that place...My sweet hubby had some frustrating moments so finally we needed to leave!! I was good and only bought 2 books!! I told Hubby that he married good...smile

The Husband Bench

We are here at Panera Bread this morning using their wi-fi!! I love the campground where we are staying. It is right on Lake Lanier and beautiful but NO INTERNET!! That is just awful for a person like myself!!

View from our camper

We have checked out several places here in Gainesville..Like Lowes; the hospital and of course KOHL'S...they have one here !! YES!! I have been there once and am thinking about going again this afternoon while hubby watches the BEARS!!

Well cannot stay here long...need to go..don't need anymore coffee!! UGH!! I am about coffeed...OUT!!

Hope all is well in your part of this GREAT big beautiful USA!!

Sandy, you should drive on north to the GA, NC border. Those are beautiful mountains and nice towns close to big cities. Clayton,Ga, Dalton, GA or even Franklin, NC 21 miles from GA state line. Has a great hospital (daughter works there) nice shopping areas and not too big of a town but one hour from large city of Asheville, NC

We were so close to Asheville NC last year and the mountains are beautiful! I am glad you are having a good time. Hug,Grams

That looks like a great place to camp. My husband and I like to travel in our rv... maybe a North Georgia trip in the future.

You are in a great place. Let me just say that while Gainesville is a great town, there are some other places close that you should visit.
Cumming, Georgia is also on Lake Lanier and they have an EXCELLENT hospital (they took care of my mother) and lots of great shopping (including Kohls!!). It is south of Dahlonega on GA 400 or GA 9. Also Canton, GA is a lovely town. Not far from a good hospital and good shopping. Kohls will be ready by spring!
If you are thinking of moving up here you will be VERY close by and maybe we can finally meet!!! YEA!

Sandy we have camped all around Lake Lanier, at COE parks. If you go back to Dahlonega,do yourself a favor and eat at the Smith House, it is wonderful. It's built over a gold mine. We are in Franklin right now, and the trees are just starting to turn, but in the higher elevations they are nearing peak. But, the weather is so nice.
Enjoy your travels.

Hugs,
Chris

Still not able to get on Mchsi.com, so still working from gmail, so use it. Not sure what I want to do, may try to call net care one of these days and go with them. Just keep writing to my gmail till I tell you otherwise. have a good trip home. Love you Mother & Dad

You are having a wonderful adventure. I'd love to do something like that...have a motorhome then drive around the country exploring. Keep safe and look forward to your next stop and photos.

First of all, I LOVE Dahlonega! It's a place we discovered by accident one time. But it is absolutely one of my favorites. That's a great area to visit. It sounds like you all had a great time.

Hugs,

Susan
