Saturday

Did not play Photo Scavenger Hunt this morning because I could not come up with a good picture for sad. I am sure all of you out there that play did the best job!! I just printed off the new list so will try for next week...That word is LAZY!! Hm!! That may take some work too!!

We just finished up our garage sale. Drug what was left back into the garage and closed the doors!! We sold a few things and just plain got RID of many other things!! Funny how you put up a sign (a big one too) saying...Dollar Sale...people then want it even cheaper...HOW NUTS!! Sometimes people just really get to me!! I ended up giving away so many things that were worth so much more in dollars...but it is gone and that was our reason. Hubby finally got rid of ALL his die cast cars that he has collected for years and years. The guy that bought them runs the flea market over here so he will sell them for triple or more of what Mike got!! BUT THEY ARE GONE NOW!! We also had a couple of families go through our home which was good. I was hoping this would happen but also i knew that when you have a garage sale the whole house seems to get messed up!! At least it has been seen twice now!!

We even had a family that stopped by and were taking all of the free things..which is FINE but I went to put something into one of their sacks and the kids had taken my bottle of green tea that i was drinking!! Man!! Gotta watch some people!

I am still going through our old love letters. Been fun reliving some of the old memories that are recorded in them. Hubby lost his grandfather and I lost my great grandmother during the writing of those letters. I have had fun reading them but boy has it ever taken time and I am not half way through them all. Quite informative. Hubby says that I should write a book about the memoirs of Sandy's life!! Boy, that would be some boring book!! No one would want to read it but me!!

The weather was nice for our sale but started getting pretty warm later...We just closed up when the sun came around the house. Not worth it!!

We are both tired and need a nap!! Funny how you just cannot do what you used to do and keep going. Tonight is church and hubby has to serve both services as usher so he will be on his feet most all night!! That would kill me!! Sometimes I wonder how he does it...I am just a WIMP!! Oh well at least I admit it!!

Take care and have an enjoyable weekend. We are now that this sale is done and over with!!

FLIP FLOP
Thought for the day: "Live life with no excuses and love with no regrets!!" Great advice!!

Reading this post reminded me of what I hate about garage sales. I had ONE, and that's enough. Now, I give my stuff to Salvation Army, and my stress level stays down. :-)

You and I feel almost the same way about garage sales! I like going to them but I just hate having one!! I do like smillingsal in the comment above me does, and bag up stuff for the Big Brothers and Big Sisters or the Blind place.

Karen had a huge yard sale a few weeks ago and it was like yours after a while she lowered the prices and they still wanted the stuff for less! Have a great weekend! Hugs, Grams

I was helping my daughter with a garage sale and one man actually stole a couple things. Bret started to go after him but thought why bother. You are right...some people will really surprise you. Just be glad it's over and enjoy the rest of the weekend. I'm hosting a giveaway. Stop by if you would like to enter.

Sandy, after my first husband died I took the love letters we had wrote each other and shredded them. Then I made 3 small heartshaped pillows and stuffed them with the shredded letters. Each of the girls have a heart filled with the love letters. Maybe you could do that with yours.

You even lost your bottle of green tea you were drinking...lol! Goodness me...well take comfort from the fact that they were obviously very thirsty!

I do feel for you going through all the upheaval of selling stuff and things you've collected over the years. It's going to be a big lifestyle change for you, however, it'll all be worth it in the end.

Do take care of yourselves...don't do too much at once. You and Mike want to be able to enjoy yourselves afterwards without being too wiped out. Take care.

I was telling my husband about you downsizing and that you were going to shred your old love letters. He said you should scan them first and put them on a disk so you could keep them forever. Disk don't take up much room! I thought I would pass on that idea for you.

you know, young people will only have "love e-mails" not letters ... i wonder if they save them?

i have every scrap of paper that leo wrote notes to me on ... i love to see how our love has grown over the years ...

blessings on your sunday!

I'm glad you got rid of all the "stuff" you had. I had my garage sale last weekend and still have quite a bit to get rid of. Not sure yet how I'm going to do that.

Hope you have a good week, Sandy

It is amazing how people will try to get you to go cheaper on your garage sale prices. Some times it is just best to put it out by the curb and let people stop and pick through the pile. Then there isn't all that work in getting ready for a garage sale.
