Thursday Thoughts

We are experiencing a cloudy and rainy afternoon!! When I woke up this morning I knew something was going to happen because my stomach and my head told me!! Smile!! It is funny I do get headaches when there is a front of some kind around and now look at it rain here!! The temps are great though and we do need the rain...badly!!

I could write a whole other post about what i learned this morning in our Precepts Class. This studying Isaiah is like studying what we are doing right now in our country. Bible is so right for every day, every year and all the time!!

I have had a lot lately happening to me and mostly it has been spiritual...which is great but i wanted to share some thing from last night that are just cute and need to be recorded so that I can remember them..smile!!

Last night being Wednesday we always go to our bible study at our church. We eat there before the service too. I had our two youngest grands..Madison and Garrett with us. After eating I always take them upstairs..Well of course Garrett did not want to go...not even to church.

GMA.."why do we HAVE to go?"

My answer: "Because you have to go!" Not a great answer I am sure!!

Last night Garrett found a friend to be with so he was fine. Madison on the other hand looked so sad and lonely when I dropped her off. I so hated to leave her but I knew that she has to learn that she needs to go in her own age group!! I went down to BIG church and was really wondering how she was doing. We had a great speaker last night that was so knowledgeable but also very funny. I could have listened to him for a long time..

I went up to pick up the kids. I found Garrett right away and we went searching for Madison. Got both kids and into the car to take them home to their parents.

Madison is all excited!! She had the best small group and was trying to learn her verse for next week..Oh yes..next week..I hope she can come. I asked her where the scripture was from. She was so cute and said, " Gma it is from Philippines 2:3 !! I laughed because she does not know the books of the bible of course.

Garrett is always coming up with "something". I think he is a deep thinker for 7!! He asked me if the devil was a real person. I told him yes of course but that he was not the guy in the red devil suit with the pitch fork and all. I went on to tell them how the devil had been an angel in Heaven with God and all about that story of him falling to earth. They are great listeners.

"Gma, is it okay to say the name devil (she is whispering it)?" asks Madison

"Sure I dont think there is anything wrong with that. You can use Satan, do you like that better?" I said.

This brought up more discussion.....

" Garrett you know when you don't want to go to church and you tell Gma that you have a headache or a stomach ache that you are making Satan really happy? " I said!!

"No,why Gma?"

"Satan does not want you to go to church and learn about God so he is talking to you and telling you that you don't need to go!" I replied.

He thought about this for a bit...as he always does...thinking!!

Madison was thinking too. She says, "Wow, Gma, Satan really has control of Garrett then."

They were so cute and so naive about it all!! I am praying for my two grands salvation!! I am trying in every way possible to be the right, Godly, Christian grandmother that they need.

If you are a grandmother and are concerned about your grands salvation then just hang in there and be there when they need you!! Pray about it too of course!! What an experience it would be to lead your grandchildren to the Lord!! AMEN!!

FLIP FLOP
Thought for the day: "Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you." (do we need anything or anyone else?)

Reading about your grands made me smile and remember things my grands have said. LOL We are having lots and lots of wind but very little rain. They called for a inch here but Fred slept on the roof so I knew it wouldn't.

I too am praying already for my grandson's salvation. I love hearing what comes out of the mouths of children.

Such a delightful story about your grands. I see why you would want to document this conversation.

After my post this morning we took off to meet hubbys aunt and uncle to spend the afternoon with them. They will be going back to FL next. Uncle Les will be 89 this year and he may not be able to keep his drivers license. That would mean they would no longer be spending the summers here in WV. They are the most remarkable people I know.

True THAT!!! It's great that those two do listen and sort of work off of each others questions too! I'm so glad you are enjoying your study! I will be back in MY Monday night group this week - we are studying 1 & 2 Peter... I've missed the first 3 weeks... but we go slow - so I'll catch up!
