HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR HUBBY!!

me and my boyfriend in 1963
Today..Labor Day..is my husband of almost 45 years...BIRTHDAY!! He is today what i will be in about 5 months!! That means today I am married to an OLDER MAN!! YESSSSS!!

His mother did have him on Labor Day!! She is now gone but she told me that he was a very very tiny baby. She said that he looked like a squirrel. I am not sure of his correct weight but he was somewhere around 3 lbs. She said that the nurse had brought him in to her and he started to turn blue. The nurse took him right back and put him in an incubator. Thank goodness for that wonderful nurse!!

I think he looks like he is doing pretty good today!! He has certainly gained his weight back!! Smile!!

Seriously, i am so happy that he came to be because he was made especially for me!! God had a plan then and well it has all worked out!!

He is one of the hardest workers that I know. Now with things not working like they should he is still pushing each day and working like he was still 30!! Of course, that concerns me but I also know that is just him and he is only happy working!! I am hoping that he can slow down in the near future!! God may make him with his bad knees and back!!

He is also a very good father, husband, helpmate, friend, provider, my strength, my love, loves God, loves his family, loves baseball (CUBS), football (Illini and BEARS), traveling, our motor home, playing Snood on the computer, cats, corvettes, going to Cubs games, and many many more things. He is just an all around GOOD MAN!! (Aren't I the lucky one?)

Happy Birthday to you today!!

We are watching Hannah now as she makes her way toward Savannah!! They think that she might just be a ONE!! You know I have never been in one, seen one up close or anything so I would rather just leave here!! I suppose you "seasoned hurricane people" would say just sit and ride out a ONE!! Oh well...call me a scardy cat...that is me!! I will gladly take the title!!

I am baking a birthday cake now and going to make up some salads for supper time!! Our daughter and family will be coming over to eat with us and wish DAD a happy birthday!!

Hope ya'll are having a great Labor Day no matter what you are doing!!

FLIP FLOP!!

I was watching the weather channel on cable and saw that Hanna turned from Tropical Storm to a Hurricane today. Beware, it looks like it may head right up to you.

Happy Birthday dear Mr. Sandy!!!

It depends on where your home is...if it's right ON the coast, then I'd seriously consider leaving if it gets above 90MPH!! Lots of surge and lots of rain, lots of flooding and erosion. If you're quite a ways inland, and depending on where the flood plain is located in your city limits and surrounding areas and if you have a LOT of trees...I'd think of getting out around 110MPH - 120MPH [that'd be a category 3 I think.] If it will end up cat 5 --then it's mandatory you evacuate. [But thing is Sandy, even tho they predict a category one, it doesn't MEAN it'll be that for SURE! Just keep an eye on the track and check updates as much as you can!] Remember, they predicted Katrina to be a category two by landfall! And it hit as a FIVE!!

Hey Sandy! Give Mike a big birthday hug from your bloggin' friend! He's such a good sport and yes, you married a keeper!!

I'm praying Hannah continues to be a "non-issue". A one is really not too bad...as long as you're not in a flood zone. You could find that the wind blows loose branches around, so be sure to check for them before she comes. That's about the worst thing that can happen during those types.

Praying for you, dear friend.

Hugs,

Susan

Wishing your hubby a very happy Birthday! What a wonderful tribute to his goodness...... and I am praying for all you folks in the path way of that storm! We watch from here in Oklahoma and we are horrified to see the damage that they cause............

Be safe my friend and enjoy that cake!

Well, I hope your hubby had a wonderful birthday!!! I'm very fortunate to have a 'keeper' also.

I think it's funny how this storm is named Hannah and that's all I hear in my house! Hannah Montana, that is! I hope it goes on out to sea and misses us!

Better get those batteries and water, though.
