Friday Show and Tell and other things!!

Are the days just flying by for everyone else or is it just me!! WOW!! It is Friday already and time for SHOW and TELL!! If you would like to play along just go to kellishouse and sign up!! It is fun!!

Today I took a picture of this old vase that has been handed down to me from my mother I believe. She was told "once upon a time" that it was worth something!! Well you know I think it is ugly and so it is probably worth something!! smile. If anyone knows anything about it I would love to know....

These are old coasters that somehow found their way to me once again!! I am not sure who they are from but they are wooden. I always thought that they were special just for that reason...
This hangs in our bedroom. It is hand crocheted by a friend a long time ago. I have always been amazed at it. I love to crochet and in fact am making a shawl right now for myself. I just cannot see how she does this though. I have always loved this....so wanted to share...

Sorry that I did not get posted as early as I would have liked to today but you know how LIFE can turn things around.

I received a call this morning from a young man that is in our church. He does not have a car and just gets by in this world. He told me that his aunt was in the hospital and he wondered if I would take him so that we could pray for her. I ran to Curves quickly and got back to go over to pick him up.

We went to the hospital and met the nicest lady! She is wonderful!! She is a Christian but I tell you I have never heard of having rheumatoid arthritis in your eyes...WOW!! She has it every place but now it is in her neck and jaws and eyes!! She has been having the worst headaches as you can just imagine.

We prayed with her. It was the nicest visit!! We stopped at McDonalds so that we could eat. I knew that he needed something to eat and could not afford it...So as long as I can...well you know!!

Am home now and need to get busy on my bible study!! This is a dull ole' rainy and cloudy day!! One where you would just like to go to sleep!! Smile!! I am a sun person!!

How rewarding this young man called on you for help. You must mean a great deal to him.

We were promised rain today, but at noon the weatherman said "for sure tomorrow". I thought "SURE"! It has been months since we had rain.

Well, it's hot and sunny here in California! My daughter commented the other day that they hadn't seen any rain since they drove out of Florida! Not much rain here. She's getting better every day and ready to be out of the house. It's killing her not being able to drive! I'm on my way back to Savannah on Tuesday, I hope! Have a wonderful weekend!

Sandy,

The crocheted sampler is beautiful. And that vase is old, for sure. It looks like it is pottery. Are there any markings on the bottom?

How kind of you to take the young man to see his Aunt and then finding out she is a Christian. That is awesome. I have rheumatoid arthritis in my knees very bad, but didn't know it could go into your face or eyes. That must be excruitiatingly painful.

I'm so glad you took the young man out for lunch. Thank you for doing a random act of kindness.

Blessings,
Mary
