Friday Show and Tell and other things!!

Today is another Friday already and time for SHOW AND TELL!! Just go over to Kelli's blog from the address in the picture and see more and more of these GREAT show and tells!! (I feel like I am back in school with my "show and tell"...smile)

Today I am going to choose several items from around our home!! I have so many nice things. I am so blessed when I walk around and really take in just what I have!! I love these things!!

These are tiny tiny chairs that my dad wilted when he was able to do so!! His hands shake so badly now that he can no longer do this great work. I apologize for the little blur but they are so tiny that it was hard to capture a picture of them. I put a penny in so that you can see that they are mighty small. He has made a lot of these chairs and we who are privileged to have them are trying to hang on to them.

When I was very little I used to collect cups and saucers. I never knew why I liked them at that age but I really did. This one is one of the ones that I still have. I got this in 1957 in Kentucky. I remember getting it. It was a gift from a friend and I so thought it was beautiful and still do. I had so many little ones and finally through the years I guess they have broken in all of our moves. I hope to be able to keep this one.
These sit on top of one of my old china cabinets that I have had for a long time. These are of course Willow Tree figurines. I just love them and what they say when you look at them. The center one my hubby got me for our anniversary!! He knew that I liked it because it has a mother and her two daughter...one bigger and one little just like our family. The one on the right I bought after my friend Betty Capote died with cancer over a year ago. The reason I bought it was because I had bought her one just like this. Since I could not get it back I just wanted to buy this one to remember her. The one of the left my daughter bought for me for a birthday I think. It is so pretty too. The fan behind them is my "official SAVANNAH fan" bought down town at the nice Lace Place!!

Those are my show and tells for today!!

I received an award today too. It came from Denise over at Shortybears Place!! Here are the rules:

To translate the gift from Portuguese to English, it means:"This blog invests and believes, the proximity"[meaning, that blogging makes us 'close' -being close through proxy] How awesome is that?? "They all are charmed with the blogs, where in the majority of its aims are to show the marvels and to do friendship; there are persons who are not interested when we give them a prize, and then they help to cut these bows; do we want that they are cut, or that they propagate? Then let's try to give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to 8 bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this text.

Now I have to pick 8 bloggers that I want to give this award too..so here goes:

Well so i choose 9...bite me!! Smile!! Hope your day is going great!!

LOL

I chose nine also. That gift is just great. I'm so happy that someone passed it on to you too. It was way too difficult to name so few and I was hoping that eventually you'd receive it also.

Now that victorian tea cup would be just lovely on my diningroom table!!! LOL

Well, where I live we're now 'downgraded' to tropical storm warning. Which is great news from our vantage point, but where our son lives it's another story...Houston is still in line for the 'big hit' later tonight or early Saturday morning. And we still have power. I've been trying to get as much work done around the house just in case water or power goes out before this storm hits land...I'm done. All I can do that is humanly possible. We've shuttered the windows up and just wait for the worst to pass us.

Thanks again, for your thoughts and prayers.

PS...if you want to email me again soon [with info I need], I'll get your header centered for you. :o)

Sandy,

Your cup and saucer is beautiful. I have seen similar ones before and you've had it for many years. It is a real treasure, for sure.

The miniatures are so cute and I enjoyed seeing your Willow Tree figurines. Thank you for sharing.

Blessings,
Mary

Your dad is one talented man. I'm glad you have some of his craft work to remind you of his talent and keep close to you while he's so many miles away.

The willow trees are my favorites. I have many with special meaning too. Priceless!

Congrats on the award!

Have a great weekend!
