Yes, I am NOW certified...and I don't mean I am a "certified idiot" although that is really close to what I really am...but now I am CPR certified....Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation!! So if you ever come to see me and you keel over then I am your MAN (woman) I mean!!

We had a good class last night of about 15 of us at the Red Cross in downtown Savannah. We had some funny people...one of which I sat with and he was my partner...so that made it even more fun!!

We each had our little dummies with bald white heads and faces and their mouth gapping open!! They had very short blue bodies with a big pump inside which was their heart!! I really enjoyed learning how to take my safety mask and put it on their big open mouth and blowing two deep breaths...pinching their really hard nose and then doing 30 compressions on their pumping blue chest!!

We did that for 2 minutes and by the time I had done that I was pooped...as well as everyone else in the class was pooped!! It takes a lot of work to save someone...DUH!!

WE learned how to help someone when they are choking. How to move people if they are in danger and need to get to a new location. How to put on gloves and take them off without getting blood all over you!! Ooooo!! How to pick up people and carry them. How to use the AED and being careful not to shock yourself!! OOOPS!! STAND CLEAR ANALYZING!! STAND CLEAR SHOCKING!! That is what you are supposed to say!! In other words, it was fun....UNTIL...Now we have to take a test and you have to get 80% to pass!! OH, NO!! TEST at 9:30 in the night!! I am asleep by that time!! BUT onward and forward we go with pens in hand and tests in front of you!! I have not taken a test in so long that just the word TEST made me nervous!!

Finally everyone is passing them in and I am still working on it!! I always hated that when people get all of their tests passed in and I am still working!! Finally i get mine done and I PASS!! YES!! I PASSED!! Ladies and gentlemen give that woman her card and get her out of this room.....

It was 10:30 before we got home!! Made for a LONG day for me. I had also worked and well wore me out!!

Today my daughter called and wanted to go look and see if we could find sales. I had promised myself no matter what I had to do if and when she asked me to go I was going to go. Who knows how long I will be able to keep up one of these days!! So since I had the whole day off I went!! WE found a lot of sales!! I finally bought new laundry baskets. You know how old mine were? About 20 years old...yeap....I got to get new ones!! I bet they don't last 20 years though!! Becky found a lot of bargains for the kids and for herself too. J. C. Penney's had some things 60% off and Target had what was left of Christmas at 90% off. I bought Christmas wrapping paper for 29 cents a roll!! I love bargains, Clearances and sales!! Love Love Love them!!!!

Can you tell I am in a much better mood today!! Yeap just take me shopping and I am good to go from then on!! Smile!!

Today is my best ist singer's birthday (IF he were alive)!! Yeap today Elvis would have been 73. He was just 10 years older than myself!! My birthday is next month!! I had my picture taken with him but he was flat and very card boardy!! Isn't he just the
handsomest guy you ever did see? My hubby looked just like him when he was young!! See why i married so well!!??

Well I have gone on long enough. Weather here is marvelous!! In the 70's and warm, some rain!! Just beautiful!!

Congratulations on becoming CPR certified. Sounds like there was a lot more involved than just learning how to do CPR.

Glad you enjoyed your shopping trip.

I agree that Elvis is the best looking man I have ever seen. No wonder all the women were crazy about him.

Unusually warm weather here, too.

Way to go Sandy.... I need to get my CPR up to date..Did you also practice CPR on babies and children?? IT is a lot to remember...Congratulations to all of you Curves workers for learning how to save our lives..

I spent two hours this morning getting a crown put on a back jaw tooth..I hate to start my day off this way...

Is there anything left to buy after your shopping trip?? I brought two Nativity sets on sale at the book store across from Curves last week..One is for my grandkids to place under their tree next year.

It has been a long day. Talk to you later. Barb

That is terrific about the CPR!!! Way to go.

You're the 2nd one that had stuff about Elvis....Never cared for him much in looks and style, but I did like to listen to his singing.

I didn't know yesterday was the "Kings" BD! I love Elvis!! While in Memphis in the late 60's, I saw someone on a horse inside of Graceland and I want to think it was him. I also saw him in one of his last concerts. It was magical!!!

Congrats on the CPR!! You never know when that may be useful.

Can you believe it was 75 here yesterday! Just like being in Georgia.

My 10 year old is an Elvis freak! She's so funny! Right now she's a bit sidetracked with High School Musical, but Elvis still blasts from her room as she's getting ready for school! She's so funny!
