Sunday Fun!!
YWe have had grandchildren ALL DAY TODAY!! Yeap all day!! Did you hear me All DAY!! They came about 9:00 this morning!! Mommy had to go with a friend to keep her company while she drove to Atlanta. Atlanta is about 4 hours from here so mommy will be gone ALL DAY!! Can you say ALL DAY!! smile!!

No really it has not been that bad, horrible or terribly hard. After all they are 9 and almost 7 now!! We tried to keep them busy. This morning Garrett and I made graham cracker cookies. Probably no one but us has ever heard of this. When I was little, mother and I used to make them. All you do is take powdered sugar
and add a little milk. You need to make it as close to the consistency of icing. Then you can add food coloring. I made a real pretty purple. Garrett just kept adding colors until he ended up with something resembling TAN I think. Then you just put a gob of it in the middle of one cracker and place the other cracker on top. Put them in the fridge. The icing sets up after it is cold. Good with milk.

After that Gpa decided that we all were going the Mall. It was not as crowded as i was expecting. From there we took the kids to McDee's ! They had their kid's meals and Mike and I had a sandwich. (I got my iced vanilla coffee)!! They played on the outside playground!! They sort of got wet because it had rained earlier!! I am trying to get their socks cleaned up now!! OOOPS!!

From there we hit one more store then off to the theater to watch, "Alvin and the Chipmunks". It was a cute movie!! I think everyone liked it!! I broke down and bought them some of that VERY expensive candy!! I cannot believe what they charge for candy at the movies!! GRACIOUS!! I could buy a whole package of the stuff for what it costs for one small box!!

After the movie we stopped at Sonic and got a root beer float and ice cream!! Now we are back home and I need to start supper already!!

What a day so far but they have been good. I called my Dad and Mother to make sure that they are okay. They are fine just very cold there in Illinois...25 and bitting wind Mother said!! UGH!!

I hope that everyone had a great Sunday!! I am almost dreading Christmas this year because I am missing all of my family!! I wish that it was like it used to be when everyone came to my house in Illinois. But we made that all stop when we moved to the South EAST!! We made a good move but I always get lonely around Christmas for those good times of having family all around!! I don't miss the cooking!! Heavens no..... just MY family!!

We will be going to Christmas Eve Service tomorrow night and then out to eat. We plan on going with our daughter and her two kids. We will be staying at their home all night so that we can see Santa come to their house. It makes it more like the old Christmases that we used to have in Illinois. I miss having little ones at this time of the year!! It just seems more like those Christmases of the past that I am missing so badly!!

I know that Christmas is the time that we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus but also it is the time that we gather together with our families!! Sentimental ME!!

I hope that you are going to be with your friends and family at this wonderful time of the year!! WE are all so blessed....

What fun, Sandy, making cookies with your two grandsons. Cute picture of the one working in the kitchen. Sounds so easy to make that the boys wouldn't have any trouble making them. Also, the movie sounds like fun. I wouldn't mind seeing that one. I'm just a big kid at heart. I went out and bought Jungle Book when they came out with that this time. I haven't watched it yet, but I will over and over.

Sounds like fun spending time at your daughter's so you can see your grandkids get up on Christmas morning.

You are blessed that you still have your parents even though they live so far away. My Dad died in 1968 and my Mom died in 1999. I miss them most at this time of year.

Sandy, have a wonderful Christmas and the best New Year you have every had, you and your family.

Sounds like you had a great day with the kids!! We make those kind of cookies too!!
We went over to the kids's Dad for their Christmas this afternoon. we had a good time. They invite me too!! Bill, Becky, and the kids came up from Windsor. Carrie had sent up gifts with Sofia's folks who came up from MX this week to be with Sofia and Jey for Christmas.
Bill's will be back up to my house on Tuesday for Christmas dinner... We go to Jey and Sofia tomorrow night for dinner and to be with them and her folks.... You will have to roll me out of the house by the end of the week after all these dinner for goodnes sakes!! It all is so good!!
I know if we moved far away I would miss every one just so bad.... Carrie is down in MX and she is missing us like crazy and we called her yesterday, she called today and we will talk again on Christmas Day..... It IS hard being away from loved one this time of the year! Love and hugs Carolyn

It seems as if you had a wonderful day with your grandchildren ! I too always have this feeling at Christmas that something is missing because the nicest Christmases I had in my whole life was when our son lived in London and we celebrated Christmas there. This time we are going to Amsterdam to celebrate with him. Although it is usually a beautiful historical city, I don't like it there in winter !
I wish you a MERRY CHRISTMAS !

Sound like you had a very special time ALL Day. I wish my gran girls were still small. We use to make the Grahman crackers too.One little girl I knew called them Gram ooies.
I also know all about the price of movie candy........WOW what a change from when we were young. My grand daughters each had $5.00 for a drink and candy. I still had to float them a loan. How was "Alivn & The Chipmunks" I've been wanting to see it myself. I think the ads they had on T.V. are so funny.
Sorry you aren't going to be with you Mother,Dad and other family for Christmas. We won't have our Christmas until the 29th. Got to share with other family members, but it Ok it will be a wonderful Christmas anyway. We are so blessed. And we have snow and lots of it. more on the way.
MERRY CHRISTmas.

Hi there, Nice talking to you yesterday, always like to hear from you, miss our family this time of the year. We knew this was coming, but as you said, it came too soon, we are never ready to have Christmas without our family around. It is lonesome here today, Ron called, then Julie called, so that made our day. Had our Christmas dinner, so that was good, now sit back and relax. Merry Christmas and enjoy your family. Love mother & dad

Merry Christmas Flip Flop!
A day late I am but it has taken that long to get a message to each of my favourite links1
I hope that you had a blessed Christmas and that your new Year will be just fine!
In my new year , I just hope that I can find a little more time to be visitng my old blog friends, as the summer and fall have been such a busy one with my dad and mom and looking out for them.
My dad will be going for his artery operation on Jan 10th so we are preparing for that and I have to take my mom for a cat scan tomorrow so the time is all taken up!
I think of you often though Sandy and I hope everything is going well for you and the family...
With love...Terry
