God is so Good!! Have you ever thought that God has kept us from harm sometimes when we do not even know about it? I was watching the news last night about the bridge colaspe in Minneapolis. One woman that seemed to be about my age decided since the road she was on was moving too slowly that she would turn off and take another route. That road that she turned off of was the one that the bridge colasped. She just missed being one of the people that might have went down like the rest of them. She believes that she would have been behind the school bus. She and her daughter might not have been hurt but at the last minute she decided to turn onto another road. Does God put that into our minds? Yes as a Christian I think that He does.

Today to be thankful for our safety and our health is one of my Thankful Thursday items!! I am always thankful for my health but after last night I started to think about my safety and that of my families also. WE just never know when we will be breathing our last breath. Do we?

I am always thankful for my home as you all know that know me. When I write that check for our house payment I almost want to Kiss the envelope as I mail it thinking...ONE more month...I get to live in our home one more month!! YES!! I like being stable!! I think I am liking it more as I get older too!! I like my "things" around me too. I like knowing that I can go see my two youngest grandchildren anytime that I want too. It is just those simple things in life that I am thankful for now. My priorities have changed as I get older. Those big and wonderful NEW things no longer make me really excited!! I DO NOT NEED them anymore!! I think that I am finally growing up!! WOW!! ABOUT TIME!!

Thankful Thursday is a great time to express these feelings in black and white. To let them out, so to speak, into the air!! God already knows my heart but this way I let others know just how I feel.

I hope everyone is having a Thankful Thursday Today!! I know that I am!!

FLIP FLOP!!!

Like you, I find as I'm getting older that my priorities are changing and I care not for the material things but for the health and happiness of my loved ones. I have been watching CNN and the bridge collapse is so devastating...it certainly does make one think about how quickly our lives can change! xoxo

I know exactly what you mean when you say that your priorities have changed as you get older, because that's how I feel, too.

That's a lovely post, it's a pleasure to see someone giving thanks for what they've got, rather than looking for more.

Have a wonderful day.

Yep, priorities really make a difference as we age. And that's as it should be, I think.

Y'all know I fear bridges, so I am really sorry to hear all my fears come true. Sad, sad happening.

[And I'm okay, health-wise, thanks for asking]

Sandy, after reading your blog I can tell you one thing I'm thankful for.. I'm thankful Sam was on that bridge 2 weeks ago and not this past Wednesday. He had a run to Minneapolis and was across that bridge twice.
There are of course many more things to be thankful for but that one sure was a blessing this week. Lov ya. Debbie

So true - we never know if we make it home again when leaving the house. I am always thankful when I enter our home again at night.
I too am thankful for the house we live in...what a blessing to have a roof over my head.
I think that I start growing up too and am thankful for the simple things in life :)
Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us this week.

Blessings to you and yours...

Each day I thank God for keeping my loved ones safe that day. Just a few days ago, my husband and I picked up our son from school. We were on the road when we witnessed an accident. A six wheeler truck hit a man on a motorcycle. The man was lucky because he did not go under the truck. I saw him get up, his motorcycle was just under the front of the truck. Miraculously he was fine. He must have gained lots of bruises and several scratches but he was still very lucky. Upon seeing that accident, I thanked God for helping the man and for sparing my family from such an accident.
