SUNDAY BLESSINGS

Hello my friends in Blogland!!

It is Sunday again!! Time to remember MY blessings for this week and boy do I have lots of them!! Don't we all if we just SLOW down long enough and reflect on all that we have here in this wonderful country!!

We are nearing the time when we celebrate our freedom. We need to think about our freedom more than just one day a year!!

My hubby bought these really nice banners today and put them on the front of our house. Made our home look really patriotic!! He came in saying that it looks like we are running for office!! I guess we would do just as good as the others that are running!! Ooops...no politics coming from me!! Not on this blog anyway!!

This has been a growing week for me. I learned that I can be of help to someone but that I also have to learn when to step back and understand that I have done the BEST that I could do in that situation. That was a BIG lesson for me this week. But I have learned.... so that was important for me this week. I feel that we should never get old to learn new lessons. God puts us in the paths of people, friends or in situations every day where he wants us. Sometimes these places take us where he wants us to learn.

This week I learned how many good FRIENDS that I have...so many!! I have always had to have friends in my life!! This week with my heart and my feelings so hurt for a short time I found that I had friends that completely understood how I felt!! That is a great feeling. Those of you that were among those...you will never know how much your comments meant to me. I sat here and cried through most of them but somehow that just seemed to cleanse me!! I am just fine now!!

I had a great day with Tootsie this week. We went out and had fun together one day!! Just shopping and being silly!! She is a hoot!! She is on vacation now ending up in Texas where her youngest daughter will be giving birth to her grandson. She is all excited about having another grandson. One other day I had lunch with my daughter and grandkids!! They are always my JOY!!

Saturday and Sunday I have been so Happy to be able to spend it with my hubby!! He did not have to work so we stayed together the whole weekend. My biggest blessing is my husband right up there with my health and my salvation!! Hard to divide those up since they all mean so much to me. I would be nothing without them all in my life!!

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!! What are you doing for the 4th? We usually just sit here but we have been invited to our daughter and son-in-laws for a cook out. Looks like we don't have to sit at home this year!! YES!! They have a new above ground pool so that sounds fun. It is just a 4 ft but it should help to cool off some! It has been very very HOT here in the South EASTERN USA lately!! I keep hoping it would rain but not yet. We are now under a Sever Thunderstorm Alert!! I just wanted some RAIN!!

My last two beautiful flowers died even though I did everything to make them grow. Home Depot has a guarantee so I took their poor dead bodies back today and bought some Cone Flowers. I am just hoping I can make them grow!! We have to get them planted. It is SO HOT now that we have to find a time when we can make ourselves get out there to dig those holes! It seems lately all the watering in the world and "fancy talking" does NO good to flowers here!! It is just TOO HOT!!

Hope your Sunday is wonderful!! Stay cool!!

You are blessed...as we all are. And you're right, we need to stop and remember that often. I love that Home Depot guarantee! What fun.

Sandy... I have successfully killed off every BLOOMIN' thing I planted this Spring! It's what I do! It's what Melli's are BEST at (besides going out to lunch)... and I have succeeded!!! We are in drought here too -- and I keep praying for some rain! Why is God sO quick to answer some prayers and soooooo slow to answer others? And why do I feel he HAS answered this one ... and said "NO!"??? Like you... all I want is some RAIN! LOL! I'm going out to water now! (which i should have done days ago -- before everything died!)

Sometimes it is good to count our blessings, no? It makes the hurtfilled moments not hurt so much and our hearts ring with gladness rather than sadness. I love your house, it is so cute! And the cone flowers, a favorite of mine! I wish you well...

Blessings,

Ellie

We have a lovely community here with all our blogging friends and the support when anyone needs it is just wonderful.

I know when I lost my lovely friend, Oscar, how much the support meant to me...like you, I cried when reading them, too.

Sandy,
Your house is so pretty! The buntings are perfect --like jewelry on a pretty lady!
We truly are blessed to live in this country--even with all its problems.
I'm glad you are feeling better. That's another answer to prayer!

Hi Sandy. Life is a never ending learning process. Not everything we encounter brings us joy but sometimes the opposite teaches us valuable lessons. I've experienced many low moments in life but I have successfully overcome them through the help of family and friends. Knowing you're not alone makes each struggle seem easier to overcome. God bless.
