Have you ever been SICK OF BEING SICK? Well, I am!! I got sick this past Friday and just cannot seem to get better.

Those of you that read my blog know that my friend Betty passed away a week ago today in fact. A week ago yesterday I went to the hospital to visit a neighbor. I don't believe I have written about her yet mostly because of Betty. Her name is Karen. She has a 5 year old. She had a baby last November. I had not heard from her so thought that all was good. I received a phone call from her saying that she was in the hospital. I went to see her. I had to put on a gown and gloves before I could go in. When I saw this young 30 something lady I was taken aback by her appearance. She has suffered what they think is a stroke after the birth of her son in November. Not only that but they had to take part of her liver, do a hysterectomy and now she is paralyzed!! She cannot walk!! Her fingers are all curled up. She can turn her head and lift her shoulders. She also has MS. She told me that she has been in every hospital in Savannah and one in Atlanta so far. I was just astounded at what she was telling me. She is getting limited physical therapy too. They will not let her children in right now because of infection. I felt so sorry for her.

Right after that I went to see Betty which was the last time I would see her. She passed that next morning.

The next day was the 4th....I tried to have a good time with my daughter and her family but fell asleep on her couch instead. (getting sick then) We did get to see fireworks which are always gorgeous here in Savannah down by the Savannah River. I took some beautiful pictures...Not of the fireworks but of my grandchildren instead!! They are prettier than fireworks.

Thursday was the day I was to have the grands all day but since the funeral was in the early afternoon, I took them to one of their neighbors before I left for the funeral. I was just making myself walk and go through the motions to do what I knew I had to do for Betty.

She had a wonderful funeral and many friends were there to celebrate her life. She was such a special lady.

Next morning I woke up with this tight band all the way across the lower half of my throat. I had willed myself NOT to get sick until Betty's funeral was finished. I could barely speak and when I did my daughter said I sounded like a woman that had smoked for years upon years!! I got into the doctor in the afternoon. He put me on an anti-biotic and from there on all I have done is sleep.

I slept the whole weekend away and right now I could go lay down once again. Sounds like I have sleeping sickness or something. I even had a dream last night that my hubby took me to the mall and he put me in a room with a bed there and just left me!! smile!! I don't know what is wrong with me, but I cannot seem to get enough SLEEP!!

I have missed blogging but I have just not felt like it. You know when I don't feel like blogging I AM SICK!! I have not been to CURVES either. Oh, I did try yesterday. I drove myself there and turned around and came home!! That wore me out!!

I hope that everyone else is having a HAPPY TUESDAY!! I am trying to wash!! I hope I get it done! I just want to go lay down again.

Like I said I am "SICK of being SICK"!! Healthy is such a nice way to be!!

Oh my poor Floozie, Hope your throat and ears are better. You really got a triple whammy girlfriend. Love the picture of Garrett and Maddie. What cutiesl

Sleep lets your body heal so get all the sleep you need. You really ran yourself ragged with all the hospital visits and emotional energy drain. It will take a while to let your body catch up with your spirit.

Know you are all prayed up for today! Miss you so much.

Poor girl but with all these emotions you have behind you plus antibiotics I think even a horse would fall asleep ! So you sound like Louis Armstrong or did you get your normal voice back ? Best thing to do, remain in bed and sleep like the "sleeping beauty" but not for 100 years ! A few days more and you will be fit again !

Dear Sandy, what a shame that you're still feeling so poorly but if your body is craving sleep then sleep all you can...you will heal as you sleep:-) You've been through so much lately and your body is telling you that enough is enough. That is so sad about your friend Karen...she is so young to have all these problems:-( You take care of yourself my friend!! xoxo

When you get to feeling better I have an award for you! I know you already have it but it says in the rules you can give it to the same person as many times as you want to! and You my friend deserve this award again and again! You have been through so much!
I was speechless (that does not happen very often) when I read in Jane's blog she had chosen me! and felt so humble. I haven't bloged long enough for this. She was very kind!

Hi Sandy,
It's no surprise to me that you got sick. Stress can do that, and you've been to the hospital so much where there are so many things going around.
You now need to take the time to rest and heal yourself.
hugs

I think you've gotten some very wise advice! Your body is telling you what it needs in order to throw off the infection - you've probably got a lowgrade temp., too.
Would your MD give you a B-12 shot? They had to do that for me after pneumonia - it really helped.
Wishing you well,
Gracie (praying, too - of course!)

think your body just had too much stress the past few weeks and got sick so you would stop and take time to take care of yourself. Rest and we'll be here sending prayers and good wishes your way.

Sandy

I'm so sorry to hear about your young neighbour...the poor girl and her family must be missing her terribly.

You know, Sandy, antibiotics can make you very sleepy at times. Sometimes the cure is as bad as the sickness.

You sleep as much as you can and let your body heal itself.

Hugs xoxo

Awwww Sweety! You really over-did it trying to take care of Betty. You're body is just really worn down right now and you NEED all that sleep to help it restore. Don't feel bad about it -- or guilty either -- just DO it! (like Nike says!) Sleep sleep sleep! It will help you get better more than anything else.

Daisy and I missed you sO much this weekend! As much fun as we had, we knew it would be even MORE fun if we had you -- and didn't have Knee! So, we're planning a Savannah Road Trip in the fall - by then Knee should be a memory ... and we'll come FIND you!!! LOL! I'm excited already!
