On this Thursday I have a lot to be Thankful!! Hubby and I just returned from a 4700 mile trip to Arizona to pick up my parents and return them to Illinois. We traveled through 14 states starting from our state of Georgia USA!! Since they decided to move in their 80's to live close to my brother in Arizona they have just NOT been happy. My brother and I had backed them in their decision but then watching them get unhappier and unhappier was not good. Hubby and I had purchased a motor home quite by the grace of God. Hubby thought it would be good if we went out and picked them up since my dad was saying he was going to drive his car back to Illinois from Arizona. We knew he would too even at 88!! Our motor home had a dolly that we could hitch to the back so Dad's car would be hauled perfectly on the back. We headed out on March 6th.

We made it to Alabama and BAMM our first tire blew out...FIRST BLESSING!! We did not wreak....instead hubby made it into a parking lot where a nice man...Hugh...helped us change the tire and also instructed us to a great place where they sold us another tire and even balanced it for us...ONTO Mississippi...ANOTHER blow out....SECOND BLESSING!! This time it was along a highway. Another nice man stopped, a Mr. Johnson. He just stopped and helped us. Afterwards, he sent us to yet another place where they helped us. We bought another tire and off we went again. Hubby and I just decided to pray and thank God that we were alive and well. We even laughed because we knew that was all we could do at that time!!

We did not go with tons of money!! We knew that we did not have much. Nowwith having to buy tires our money was going fast. We knew that God would help in some way. He did!! We finally made it to Arizona thru ridiculous, bumpy and horrible roads!! This country needs to take a good look at their roads!!

We know with this trip that God was with us all of the way. I had great friends that called us while we were on the road and told us that they were praying for us. When I had the chance I would hook up to wireless and see that people were emailing me and commenting on my blog and that they were praying for our safety. God had people working for us all along!!

Once we made it to Arizona and to my brother's house, our son was there from California. With my brother, our son and my hubby they all worked trying to make sure that this would not happen again. Everyone decided that we needed new tires all around....SO more tires were bought!! MORE BLESSINGS because we wanted my parents to be safe!! The guys worked and worked on that motor home!! What a trip!!

We loaded up my parents, and took off for Illinois!! Both of my parents were happy to be going home!! ANOTHER blessing!! Our last two weeks have been filled with blessings even though it sounds like tragedy!! You have to see blessings even in the bad things!! I believe that God wants us to do that!

My Thankful Thursday is just knowing that God was with us on our GREAT ADVENTURE through 14 states and 4700 miles!! He kept us safe!! God knows our future because HE HOLDS IT!!

Hi Sandy. I'm thankful that you had a safe journey.

How wonderful that you are able to transform what seems like problems into blessings. I admire your outlook in life. I believe that things always happen for a good reason and God is always there to guide us in our journey.

A positive attitude certainly makes life more appealing.
