ANTIQUE

I have posted this picture before of my little antique iron but until I get my new little digital camera up and running I had to use one from my archives for today!! We have a lot of antiques here at our house starting with my hubby since he is 5 months older than me followed closely by myself..which I will be getting older this coming Tuesday already!!(YEAH for February birthdays!!!) I also have some other antiques in the house too from my grandmothers!! This little iron is one of my favorites because I remember using it with my mother when I was little. She would give me hankies to iron and that made me think that I was "big stuff" at the time!! Now I am not one to iron at all!! I am so glad that most of us do not use hankies any longer!! Thanks Kleenex!!

I love it that it's antique, but ya know something....IRON is a four letter word at our house.

We have a couple of the solid black cast iron, irons that my great grandmother used on her clothes... lots of scorching went on in those days. ;)

I remember seeing an iron like that at my grandma's house and watching her use it when I was a little girl. Thanks for the memory! We are almost the same age...I will be 61 in May. Happy Birthday early....you're still young in my book!!!

Thanks for visiting me!

I have no idea why, but antique irons fascinate me, actually, all irons fascinate me. Thanks for visiting my rant.

You brought back my memories of learning to iron in just the exact same way! Now nobody uses hankerchiefs. And thank goodness we have better irons!

That's really cool! I learned how to iron by ironing my dad's hankerchiefs...he still uses hankies today! But I don't think they get ironed...lol!

I can hardly believe you still have that little iron, I always loved it and loved it when you wanted to help iron. Those were the good days of your youth and mine too, I guess. Just take good care of it, that one you have to sit it on a burner and heat it up. Thanks for the memories. Love Mother

Oh perfect choice for The Hunt. How wonderful that you have this little piece of your history. Boy, I'm really glad that when I need to iron (and thankfully it's not too often) I can just plug it it. :-)
