Feast One Hundred and Twenty Two
Appetizer
What was your very first job with a paycheck?

In my high school there was one job that a sophomore was chosen to receive. That year I was the one that was picked for that job. I was the receptionist at our small hospital in our small town in Illinois. I loved that job! After school I sat at the front and welcomed all of the visitors. Not only the visitors but the ones that were being admitted also. It was an old hospital (I had been born there and my son would be born there also). It had those old elevators that looked like they were going to break when you got in them. One time a VERY pregnant young lady came (remember I am only about 16 at the time). I had to take her to the 2nd floor. She was moaning and carrying on. I thought OH MY what if she has her baby on this old rickity elevator...what will I DO??? We made it to the 2nd floor and was I ever GLAD!! That was my first regular paycheck...I earned it!!

Did you ever lose something really important to you?

Yes, I have lost a lot of things important to me. I always have to remember they are just things though. I let my youngest daughter have my grandmother's wedding ring. She wore it at college. She was at a game on campus and lost it. I wish that had not happened but it was never found. Recently, we lost our cat Lucy and she is still very important to us. I keep thinking she will return but it has been almost 3 weeks now. I am "trying" to give up on her ever coming home.

What is the best Christmas present you ever received?

Again, those are just things. I remember getting jewerly from my hubby but I think the best gift is just having my family around me. That does not happen much anymore and I do miss it.

Main Course
Tell about a favorite "hang out" place for you and your friends when you were in high school.

Believe it or not but it was in our English class room at noon time. We never had an after school place then. We were in the generation where we went home and mostly stayed there. We did not run around much. At school after lunch some of us just would congregate in that English room and talk. We had a real cool English teacher and she loved having us in her room.

Dessert
Name something that always brings a smile to your face.

The love my husband has for me!! It always amazes me that he loves me the way that he does. It has been a LONG and everlasting love. We have known each other since we were 14 and have dated since we were 16. We are both almost 62 now...me being the baby!! That is a long time to feel the same way about each other and it always makes me smile!!

Awww, I just love your dessert! That's truly wonderful that you've been together that long. I think if Charley and I had gotten together the fist time I met him when I was 19, we would have made it through that long.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a nice weekend, Sandy! Aloha

I love your dessert. My parents have been together since my mom was sixteen, and they are still mushy. I pray than Jon and I are given s many years together.

You must have grown up between angels if there were no place to "hang around" !
So sad for your kitty, it's terrible when you don't know where she is.

I just planted a kiss from you on Pookie's head, because she is always sitting besides me when I am at the computer.
You never know maybe she will suddenly show up. I had it once with a cat. He disappeared for a week and I were sick it was awful. And suddenly he showed up not hungry or thursty but for 2 months he never put a paw in the garden and then I had to go out with him and stay with him. Somebody probably tried to keep him and had locked him in. Unfortunately they cannot speak. I just posted about Lisa on my catblog.
