MONDAY MEMORIES

This past weekend brought up some old memories for me so I figured with Monday memories right here this would be a good time to post my memories.

My oldest granddaughter just went to the prom. I received pictures from her mother and when I saw how beautiful she looked and saw that she looked just like her mom the pictures made me cry. I know some of you out there are saying how silly is this woman!! Well, wait a few years, have your own children, watch them grow up, have their children and then get back to me on this issue!! We will then sit down and talk!!!

As soon as I saw this picture I thought about the black and white picture that I am hoping to include in here too. I wonder if anyone could possibly wonder who these two young people could be? Well, I can give you a date back in the long ago world...April 1961!! Does that give anyone a clue? Yeap, you are right...It is flip flop and my great and wonderful date who is now my husband of 42 years. Isn't he a doll? He was then and he still is. There is nothing that he would not do for me!! I am very fortunate woman and I know it. See how similar the pictures are and how much that memory of 45 years came back to me?

He had on a white tux and my dress was a light pink. I was so excited because you see I had never dated anyone before and he was so special because he really wanted to date ME!! I had always wondered what was wrong with me. Why did all of the boys date everyone else and not me? Well, now I know it was because God was saving me for that young man that lived 40 miles away. I had to wait until the right time and the right circumstances were put into place and then all just fell into place. Now after all of these years I am so thankful that I was patience and that my memories are the best in this world.

My Monday Memories are very special. I just hope that my darling granddaughter will have many, many Monday Memories of her own someday!! I love you my oldest one!! Happy almost birthday too!! Almost 17!! WOW!!

Oh my gosh! The comments thingy works today! Just wanted to let you now I love reading your blog. It's so much fun. And today's blog brought something to mind for me. Last year as Camisha was graduating from 8th grade and I saw her all dressed up and loosing so grown up and beautiful, I cried. So I do know exactly how you feel. By the time her Prom gets here, I'll be blubbering like some baby. Love ya and love your site.

Oh, how cute BOTH those pictures are! You're hubby certainly was a handsome fella ... and YOU were a cutie patooty! I think you both made out pretty well! Looks like your granddaughter had a great time... My youngest daughter has her prom this coming Saturday, and I can't wait to take my own pictures! :)
