MONDAY MEMORIES................

Since Father's Day is right around the corner, I remembered this picture of my dad.
I just returned from a trip to Illinois to move my parents to Arizona. They are now living about 2 miles from my brother.
I had a chance to go through many, many, pictures with my mother.
When we found this picture of my Dad I asked if I could have it.
When I was a very young girl, probably in the 1950's, this picture always hung on the wall usually in the living room. I am not sure exactly how old my Dad was in this picture but that is not the reason I wanted this particular picture.
My brother and I always thought that my Dad's eyes followed you everywhere you went in this picture. They just seemed to always be following you no matter where you seemed to be in that room. Maybe we felt guilty...like we were doing something wrong all of the time (and maybe we were knowing us!!) My brother and I were very mean and onery kids!! Just ask my mother!! Bless her heart!!
I just wanted to share this with you. I am blessed to still have my Dad! I never thought that at my age I would still have a Dad but the good Lord has blessed me!!
When I was there in Illinois I even got to ask him for the keys one more time. Me 61 asking my almost 88 year old Dad for the car keys!! Wow!! I never thought I would get to do that again!! What life miracles can happen!!

I think this memoir of your father is just fantastic!!!

Thanks for sharing it with us all...88?!! That's awesome. (what a hoot about asking for the keys!!!)

And about my DOS blog this Monday...
flip-flop...it took me from last night until this morning to finish it! (I started helping my daughter a while ago with looking up command prompts and it's still just as odd to me now as it was way back when!!!) I dislike DOS with a passion.

Happy Monday.

I agree. To have your parents still living, as we get older, is truly a blessing. I never knew my dad, but I miss my mom terribly.

Love the floating flowers! but I'm with daisy -- expected to see flip flops floating (say THAT 3 times fast) down:)

A lovely Father's day tribute. I too was fortunate--had my dad until 2002 when he was 89. Your father was quite handsome--with the see it all eyes.

My MM is up.

That is great! My Dad passed when I was 18. 40+ years later, I still miss him.

Thanks for the vote. I appreciate it. I like you new additions!

Yes his eyes do follow you around. Good looking man. My Dad was almost 40 when I was born, and we were never very close. He died when I was in my 30's. Sad to say I never missed him, gave him a lifetime to live in my heart. Thank you so much for posting this photo, inspired me to post one of my Dad too.
