MONDAY MEMORIES

Isn't this a beautiful picture and to think that I..ME...took this picture all by myself!!

We just returned from Jekyll Island here in beautiful Georgia!! I have always wanted to go th
ere since I read the novels written by Eugenia Price. If you have not read her novels and have any interest at all in the deep South, you will enjoy them.
She loved writing about the Civil War and of course about slavery. She wrote more about St. Simons Island but Jekyll is also mentioned alot there too.

We had a great time camping with our daughter, her family and our granddaughter that is visiting with us from Illinois. She even got to hold a fish. The poor little fish was only about 1" long..maybe but she was thrilled to say that she actually did hold a fish!!

We also went bike riding on this bicycle that held all of us..all 7 of us. Only four of pedaled.... It was cute and fun..I pedaled the whole way. I figured that Curves would be proud of me!!

We went to the beach twice. I walked and walked there looking for shells. The little ones had a lot of fun playing and jumping in the waves which were big for a change!! They are not scared of anything like we adults because WE KNOW what lives out there and they just have not figured that out yet!! UGH!! I just like the walking with the waves flapping at your feet...so relaxing and fun!! I can never get enough of the ocean!!

We had a great time and this is just a memory from this past weekend but I am hoping it will be a great memory for all of us since we were a family for two short days. Like our granddaughter said when we were pumping and pumping on that 7 person bicycle...we are working like a team..that is what a family is...a team that works together. Saturday we were a team that was working HARD together...We laughed and had a great time...thinking sometimes that we were all going to die when a car was coming or we were going a little too fast down a hill but what fun we had and what memories we have!! Families what memories!!

Aaaaaah! That is fabulous! We rented one of those bikes last winter when we were in Ocean City! Because it was winter, the boardwalk was almost empty and we were able to just ride and ride for a long time! I WISH I had been THEN in the shape I'm in NOW because it would have been much easier! LOL! And yes -- I think Curves should give you credit for all your pedaling AND walking!!! ;) I'm glad you guys had such a great time and I'm sure this WILL be a wonderful memory for the future!

What a wonderful weekend you had, and yes, those are the times memories are made of. That also was a beautiful picture you took! thanks for sharing this time with us, and reminding us that time is too short, and we need to make time count!

I just got back from having three days with my brother and two sisters. We were in Galveston, TX and we had a great time too. We do this once a week, every year. Dad started the tradition before he died and we have continuted it every year since.

WOW Sandy. That picture IS awesome! You did a teriffic job. Yes, memories, grandchildren, they go hand in hand. I don't know about you but as much as I enjoyed our children when they were small, I think I'm going to enjoy the grandchildren more! Is that possible?
